With just over 5 minutes left in the game the 40,000 fans in Berlin were booing as the 1-10 Scottish Claymores led Berlin 20-3 at home.  Berlin had played a poor game , they couldnt run the ball and the Claymores who hadnt won on the road all year were cruisiing to victory.
But despite the boos why were the fans in the game till the end ?  The reason - Vance Blundin.  Blundin is the top receiver ever in the FWL, he has over 100 more catches than the #2 WR in league history and is over 300 catches ahead of any other active WR.

Here Blundin was about to do the unthinkable, the only WR in history to have 900+ catches, Blundin was trying for catch # 1000.

In true Blundin style he was going to make it a big catch.  He had earlier caught pass # 999 for a 5 yard gain and the crowd were waiting for # 1000.

On a 2nd & 10 with 5:31 left in the game Blundin made history.  Veteran QB Pat Barnes went back to pass and threw a bomb to Blundin.  Blundin the 36 year old receiver was wide open and made a huge 40 yard grab, the Thunders biggest play of the game.  The game paused for 5 minutes as Blundin celebrated this amazing feat.

Blundin went on to have one of his best games of the season and still has a chance to get 1000 yards.  Despite the loss all the fans were happy they were there to see Blundins 1000th catch.  He would later catch one more to make it 1001 catches but it could be a record to last a very long time
