We're at the halfway point and theres some big games coming up in the next few weeks in the race to the playoffs....

Birmingham at New York

These two teams will face later but each team is 6-1 and this should be a great clash.  Birmingham have great depth at HB whilst NY dont seem to be firing on all cylinders yet are 6-1.  NY have the advantage as they are at home but it should be a great one.

Montreal at Orlando

On paper this should be an easy win for Montreal over the slumping Thunder.  Orlando had many OL injuries last week and had trouble all game. Orlando havent won at home yet this season but still can play well at home, Montreal dont want to take this game too easily after their tough two wins the last two weeks over some of the top teams in the FWL.

Ohio at Sacramento

The Surge were having a great year until they fell apart in the first half against Birmingham.  They may have a QB controversy on their hands after backup Rob Adamson played well in relief of Jake Delhomme.  Sacramento have a good team but need to build that OL which will help the passing attack and open up holes for the rushing game.  Ohio had their first big game from Payton last week but will be away in this game where they are 1-3 this year whilst Sacramento are 3-0 at home.    Important game for both teams.

Amsterdam at San Antonio

Another big clash here, the Riders after a bad game away in Montreal need to bounce back but they will be facing the top EFC team in Amsterdam.  The Admirals are having a great year and are playing brilliant football, the Riders need to bounce back to winning ways.  Amsterdam are an impressive 4-0 away this year and stand a great chance.

San Antonio by 3

Raleigh-Durham at Mexico

Could this be the Aztecs first win of the season ? Both teams are playing actually good football, Mexico are losing close games however and Raleigh have strengthened their squad but face a tough away game in Mexico.  Raleigh are 0-3 on the road and Mexico 0-3 at home so something has to give.

Mexico by 3

Barcelona at Frankfurt

Both teams are rebounding and have won 2 straight games, an important tiebreaker here as both teams will be fighting for a playoff spot.  Barcelona under veteran QB Dameyune Craig have played very well lately but Frankfurt must be wishing they didnt trade WR Tony Simmons.  Frankfurt won their first home game of the year last week and are playing great defensive football, Barcelona can move the ball though so this should be a close one.

Berlin at Rhein

Rhein had a great win last week against Austria and now face a fading Berlin side who have been pretty poor recently.  The Thunder have only scored 17 points the last two weeks and Rhein after their great Austria win could keep on winning with a nice win here.

Paris at Scottish

The Claymores might have a QB problem on their hands, Jonathan Quinn had a very poor game last week but does GM Munro bench him ?  They face a tough Paris side who have lost 6 straight games but under their new GM they have improved and have lost the last two weeks in overtime.  Scotland should win here as Paris are 0-4 on the road but Quinn has to get back to winning ways and perhaps HB Malan isnt the answer ?

Scotland by 7

London at Austria

The old rivalry is back but it could be a bad time for London.  Austria are angry after their loss to Rhein, new star HB Ken Simonton had a quiet game and is eager for a big breakout game for the DarkKnights, London did win last week but it was in overtime.  Austria are 4-0 at home and have played well in their backyard, shouldnt have any trouble here.
