Despite all their changes this season Raleigh-Durham are still in the bottom of teams in the AFC.  However last week with the acquisition of Curtis Alexander their offense seemed to have their best game of the season and rookie QB Aaron Rodgers one of the best performances of the week.

Rodgers threw 28 of 32 passes for nearly 300 yards and 2 td's to methodically lead the new look Skyhawks offense brilliantly against the tough Birmingham Fire defense.  This week they face the Montreal Machine who are looking to increase their lead in the AFC West.  However Raleigh could cause a surprise, they are just 2-2 at home this year whilst Montreal are 4-1 away but the Skyhawks are a new team now.

Raleigh rolled up 21 first downs and over 400 yards offense last week and this was away in Birmingham.  Who will Montreal look to stop ? HB Alexander or QB Rodgers ?

Since returning to the starting lineup Aaron Rodgers has been excellent, Alexander needs to have a big game at home but his new look offensive line have done well.  WR's Latef Frim and Robert Baker are a great 1-2, Baker the deep threat, Frim the possession receiver and young TE Bobby Blizzard has made big plays practically every week since starting.

Defensively the team are missing Greg White and Matt Sweeney but last week against the Fire they were very good.  Montreal wont want to take young Raleigh-Durham lightly, they know they could be a force in years to come but for now the young pretenders are still a scary team to meet.

If Raleigh win they could be back in the playoff hunt, if Ohio beat Sacramento both teams would be 5-5 and that would leave San Antonio two games ahead if they beat Berlin at 6-4.  The time may be too late for Raleigh this year for a playoff berth but the Skyhawks could be an interesting team to see next year when fully healthy.

Its the championship veterans of Montreal against the young pretenders of Raleigh.  It should be a great game
