Surge sign two veterans and release two superstar vets

Sacramento this week cut two long serving FWL players in Schadd Freeman and Martin Janson.

Freeman ranks 25th all time with 659 tackles and also has 8 interceptions. Freeman played for Mexico from Season 5-Season 13 and was named All-FWL 3 times in Season 6,7 and 11. In Season 7 Freeman had 89 tackles and 9 sacks, 1 fumble and 2 interceptions. Freeman spent his final years on Austrias roster as a backup and also with Sacramento but this week was cut.

Martin Janson was a fierce All-FWL LB with the Orlando Thunder for many years, in Season 10 Janson had 88 tackles and 6 sacks and in Season 11 Janson had one of the best seasons ever by a LB with 87 tackles and an amazing 11 sacks.

Janson has been extremely productive during his career and has at least one sack for 11 straight seasons. He had 70+ tackles for 7 seasons until being surprisingly cut after Season 14. He then signed with Sacramento as a FA. Already reported are several teams interested in Janson. Janson ranks 16th in the league all time with 692 tackles , another 24 would put him in the Top 10 of all time. "I hope people look past my age and speed, I can still play in this league and would easily put up a 70 tackle season for any team wishing to start me" said Janson. Janson also added 49 sacks in his career

In their place Sacramento signed two veterans, former Riders LB Ronnie Nicks and former Glory LB Keith Franklin a former All-FWL LB selection. Franklin has 590 tackles and 34 sacks in his career and Nicks 86 tackles and 3 sacks and was named All-FWL 3 straight years in S10, S11 and Season 12. He played in two FWL Bowls in Orlando winning one and is the franchises all time leading tackler.
