Theres been some terrible injuries in the FWL over the last 15 seasons, below are just a few of them...

QB Jason Garrett, Season 2.

Garrett was one of the stars of the first ever FWL season throwing 21 td's and 5 ints which were then FWL records.  Garrett took San Antonio to the playoffs and the following year was expected to do the same.  Just 18 passes into the first half of the first game of the next season Garrett was severely injured and missed the rest of the year.  Garrett did rebound a year later but wasnt the same QB.

Mexico QB's, Season 2

Mexico had a great season by their starting QB Charlie Ward in Season 2 but late in the season Ward was injured and would miss the rest of the year. In came backup Casey Weldon who did a good job controlling the team late in the year.  Weldon himself was injured in the AFC Championship and in came 3rd stringer Damon Allen.  Allen led Mexico to a win and a place in FWL Bowl II.  Allen played well with 3 touchdowns but Frankfurt won out winners 24-21.  Despite the great play Allen was back to being 3rd string a year later.

LB Marc Lillibridge, Season 2

The big trade of Season 2 was that the best LB in the league Marc Lillibridge was traded to Austria.  Lillibridge instantly started and was great the first two games with 18 tackles, a fumble recovery and an interception then disaster struck.  Lillibridge was severely injured and would miss the rest of the season.  Lillibridge did rebound and had some great years and won 2 FWL Bowl rings with Austria.

HB Siran Stacy, Season 3

In the early years of the FWL Stacy was one of the best RB's and ran for 2000 yards in his first two seasons combined.  In season 3 Stacy was struggling but then took a vicious hit which made him miss the rest of the season.  Without Stacy in the lineup the Claymores bombed to their first losing record ever.  He tried coming back the following year but averaged a terrible 1.7 yards a rush and totally lost his speed, he was a backup the following year then retired.

QB Stan White, Season 7

Stan White was the Monarchs starting QB for their first 5 seasons in the FWL and then spent 2002 as a backup.  It was a surprise in 2003 when he was traded to Londons arch rivals Austria.  With Austria having a bad season White got the nod in Week 13 against his old team London.  His former teammates didnt hold back, White was sacked 5 times and completed less than 50% of his passes as he was battered.  White suffered a serious injury which would knock him out for the rest of the season, the injury was so severe doctors recommend that he never play again and White took their advice.

QB Dave Barr, Season 7

Dave Barr had lead Rhein to a 10-0 record, they slipped up the next few weeks but still had the leagues best record at 12-2.  Barr had one of the best seasons ever with 21 td's and just 1 int and was named FWL MVP, he led his team into the playoffs but was injured in the EFC Championship game against London and would miss the final.  Backup Dani Pegenaute had a good showing in the final but Orlando ran out winners.

WR Jesse Dawson - Season 11

Dawson was one of the best WR's in the league and had 5 straight 1000 yard seasons including an incredible 117 catch season just 4 years before his fatal injury.  In 2007 Dawson was playing for Cologne (Paris) and having a great year and was on target for another 1000 yards before injury struck.  The injury was so severe Dawson would miss the rest of the season and even worse the injury ended his career.

HB Jon Handley, Season 11

Another bad injury that year was to Berlin HB Jon Handley.  Handley was a great pickup from Sacramento where he was just a backup but with Berlin he led his team in rushing for 4 straight years.  Handley was enjoying his best season yet in 2007 with 936 yards and over 50 catches but a fatal injury in Week 12 put him out for the rest of the year.  Handley had great speed in his career and scored an amazing 3 touchdowns over 95 yards.  He had to retire sadly after that injury.

DT Bastian Lano, Season 14

Lano was unlucky not to be named All-FWL in Season 13, he led the league in sacks with 14 and also added 38 tackles and was the best Aztecs defensive player.  The following year within 5 minutes into the first game Lano was chop blocked and badly injured.  The injury was so bad Lano was ruled out for 20 weeks and would miss the rest of the year.  It was a huge blow for Mexico but Lano eventually recovered and this year is making good progress as a part time pass rusher for the Aztecs.

HB BJ Askew - Season 14

Sacramento had just traded for a new young RB to take over for many years to come.  Askew started off slowly but was playing well a few games later, then disaster struck, Askew badly twisted his right knee and after an MRI Askew would miss the rest of the season.
