London Monarchs GM

MONARCHS GET A LATE WIN

London somehow got a late win against Berlin thanks to backup QB Kevin Dafts strike on 4th down for a 38 yard gain which set up the late FG.  K Tyler Jones streak of 16 straight FG's was snapped as he missed two (his first of the season) against Berlin, QB Drew Henson also was injured on the final drive but backup QB Kevin Daft made the huge play to help get the win in the closest Monarchs game so far.

HENSON STILL STARTING

Despite the P-1 injury (a sore ankle) the Monarchs said this week Drew Henson will start again this week and Hensons 20 game starting streak (started every game since being drafted) will continue.  Henson played very well last week but was knocked out on the final drive.

WHERE IS MARK WORD ?

All-FWL Hall of Famer DE Mark Word is having a great comeback season with 6 sacks in 5 games but this week for the first time in his career EVER he had 0 tackles and 0 sacks.  Word was kept at bay by a great showing by the Berlin offense line and Word promised he'll be back this week after a terrible performance.  DE Nick Burley continued his quiet streak with 4 tackles and 0 sacks, an improvement over the previous week however in which he had 0 tackles and 0 sacks.  The Monarchs may move Burley to DT but he'll get one more week.  Former CB and now S3 Erwin Swiney was promoted to his new position and he responded with 0 tackles despite London trying to get him into the action more !

TATUM WATCH

A quiet week for Kinnon Tatum but he did get a sack, with 3 tackles Tatum moves to 983 tackles and just 17 away from 1000

MONARCHS TURN DOWN HUGE TRADE OFFERS

Last week the Monarchs were approached by a team with several huge trade offers, they were tempting but London are 6-0 do not want to change anything in this great season especially to a rival !  "The offers were good but for the players they wanted they would have to give up a lot more than some veterans for our players who are in our prime" said the Monarchs GM in a slight dig to the other team.

NEW LB COMING ?

The Admirals this week released LB Tony Ortiz, a very talented veteran who could start for many teams out there.  "I would like to bring Ortiz in for a tryout" said the Monarchs GM, "But with our 6-0 record we would lose out to most teams for his signing, I'll be very surprised if a team doesnt bring in Ortiz, hes a quality player".
