Birmingham at New York

There is only one playoff space left for grabs and its in the AFC.  Quite simply put if New York win theyre in,  if they lose and other teams win they may be out because of the tiebreakers.  Birmingham played a great game but finally fell apart last week and were knocked out of the playoff race.  They may start backups in this game or they may want to play spoilers.  New York have played well this year, 3 overtime defeats have hurt them badly but they have bounced back.  Veteran QB Phil Stambaugh is having a great year and despite having DeMario Brown out of the lineup the Knights have had a great year and have looked very good lately.

Sacramento at Ohio

Painful defeat last week against Berlin for the Surge.  They still are in with a shout but with New York at home and Sacramento away to AFC East winners Ohio its not looking good for the Surge.  QB Rob Adamson bounced back from a mauling in the early weeks to look very good but HB Kory Chapman doesnt seem to be the answer.  Ohio have had a great year under rookie GM Gary Schofield Jnr and any other season he may have won GM of the Year.

Orlando at Montreal

Orlando won their first game of the season last week but dont expect an upset here.  If Montreal win they get the top seed in the AFC and thats what they really want.  Its been a great year for Montreal, their veterans have played well and theyve won yet another AFC West.  For Orlando its just a matter of the younger players getting experience.

Raleigh-Durham at San Antonio

Both teams were shocked last week.  Raleigh were crushed at home, the Riders looked poor against Orlando.  Skyhawks HB Curtis Alexander will miss playing against his former team.  With the Riders changing offenses nearly every week its no wonder QB Michael Bishop has been eractic this year.  Raleigh really were devastated by last weeks defeat to a strong Mexico side and will want to go out with a bang.  If Raleigh win and NY lose then Raleigh could be the last playoff team.

Berlin at Frankfurt

Whoever wins this will reach .500 and avoid a losing record.  Frankfurt have looked good the last two weeks but its been since the pressure has been lifted off them as they were knocked out of the playoff race.  Berlin have been a major surprise this season, HB Avon Cobourne one of the main reasons.  Could be a good game between two evenly matched teams.  Look for Frankfurt to make major changes next year

Mexico at Rhein

The Aztecs are in the playoffs after their usual midseason slump but they now have the top offense, have the best rushing defense and a superstar in HB Eric McCoo who could have the best ever year by a RB in the league.  Rhein play well at home and show potential, Mexico can still win the AFC West but it would be a surprise if Montreal lost to 1-12 Orlando.

London at Amsterdam

This is it.  The huge one !  Amsterdam were flat as a pancake last week but it appears every player is getting ready for this clash.  London are 12-1 but havent played that great lately, their offense has slipped down from being the top ranked to 7th but their defense is excellent as is Amsterdams.  Could be a low scoring clash.  Whoever wins this gets homefield advantage in the EFC.  A huge game.  Amsterdam to win as they are at home.

Austria at Scotland

Two wildcard teams face each other but neither seem too bothered by the result.  Austria started their backups last week and despite the defeat QB Brian St Pierre looked brilliant.  Scotland werent great last week but got the win and move to 8-5 on the year.  A win here ties them with Austria so it would come down to a tiebreaker.

Barcelona at Paris

Surely this is the time when Paris finally get their first win ?  Barcelona are 3-10 and have had a terrible year, however obviously its been even worse for Paris who are 0-13.  Theres only been two 0-14 teams in league history, Paris dont want to be the 3rd.  Offensively QB Ryan Dinwiddie and HB Robert Edwards have played well but a poor o-line and a terrible defense havent helped.  Paris have to win this game at home badly.
