Title: Most disappointing team this year ?
Post by: Paul-London on November 18, 2004, 04:34:00 AM
I think apart from perhaps London its the NY Knights.  Feel sorry for Adam as i think they are a very good team but they've just had a down year.

Their new RB isnt bad but i think perhaps they miss Michael Black ?

Michael Black does seem to have bombed with Berlin, since he joined them theyre about 1-4 i think and are fading.

Paul, wrong board ("Trades?)

Nevertheless: I pick London over NY on the "List of shame" because the Knights still have a shot at winning the division and to reach the playoffs.

London, is the team that surprised me most this year on negative way. But I am also surprised by Scotland. I was of opinion they would be much stronger this year

no no no....

we are just fine. don´t forget we are only up to 18, do not make things more complicated. too many folders would be disturbing i guess. let us stick to this.

Well David runs a league and his messageboard has these topics...

League News
League Updates & Information

 Team Info
Team Articles, Information and Rumors

 Predictions & Previews
Weekly predictions and previews from the 'experts'

 Player Info
News on players of the FIFL

Trades & Trash
 Trade Talk
Post players available for trade here

 Trash Talk
Self-Explanatory

General
 Off Topic Discussion
Anything non-FWL related goes here

I think those 7 topics could be good

argh. too much. too consing. i´d rather have a shorter list with more traffic in it.
an i do not understand the board "trash talk" because why would i have such board? And i still think that "NEWS" have to be postet on the FWL-site, not in the Forum. Otherwise the site might look old and boring....

My suggestion:
>) "Gameday" (Stories about the upcoming and recent game-week, news about teams and players, "trash-talk" etc etc......)
>) "Trades and Signings" (who is hot and who not?)
>) "FWL-History" (stories about the past.....)
>) "Off-FWL" (including "About the forum" (suggestions etc etc....)

should be enough. some of us do a lot of posting here but i think it will calm down soon. a 7-item-list is too long.

Yeah, I'm inclined to keep the list shorter myself. That structure seems better suited to a league that doesn't have a main portal like we have.

Maybe I was too specific in the use of "gameday" but, especially given that this will be a pretty low-traffic forum, I think that board should be fine for most general discussion like this one. Since news and articles go on the main site we don't really need to have them here... and let's not bother with an off-topic board because I don't think I really need to know what you guys think of politics, music, or religion.

(Stan Gelbaugh for President!)

I'll add an Announcements board that's just for league-wide announcements ("Remember, no more trading!" or "Playoffs Saturday, not Sunday!" or whatever) and if the "gameday" general board gets too cluttered, we'll expand from there. Nothing is more depressing than a forum with a bunch of empty boards.

I bet people will want me to call their team the most disappointing now !

I say that about NY and they win in Week 11, Orlando lose and NY are now joint top of their division !

I am a bit disappointed with Orlando. In particular since we've lost quite a few close games. Those were the ones we used to win in previous seasons. But I guess that comes from having a 1 year QB as a starter.
