Title: Will he or wont he ? Post by: Paul-London on May 28, 2008, 04:42:15 AM Theres been a lot of speculation about another veteran, Montreal QB Danny Wuerffel.
Wuerffel was a 1st round pick of Montreal and has guided the team to an amazing record, 12 straight playoff years, 6 FWL Bowl appearances and 4 FWL Bowl wins. The most ever by far of any QB in history. However at 5-6 this year and with 3 games to go Wuerffel and the Machine might miss the playoffs for the first time in years. There is speculation that Wuerffel might retire, he would have completed his 14th season and only 2 QB's in the history of the league (Jason Garrett and David Archer) have played into a 15th season. Archer was a 13 year vet when he joined the FWL in its rookie year and only played 3 seasons in the FWL. Jason Garrett was a veteran also when he joined the league and was practically injured for a whole season before deciding to come back. No QB drafted in the FWL has ever played 15 years. Will Wuerffel retire ? Hes just 4 touchdowns away from becoming the first QB in history to reach 200 career touchdowns and just 617 yards away from breaking Pat Barnes all time yardage record. He should reach those figures in the next 3 games. With those career records will Wuerffel call it a day ? Theres rumours he might just retire after the battering his body has taken over the years. |
