Title: Monarchs retire
Post by: Paul-London on June 17, 2008, 04:58:29 AM
There was good and bad news for London this week, DE Mark Word, an FWL legend agreed a 1 year contract to play one final year with the team.

However London did suffer a lot of retirements, mostly to backups but it has really hurt their depth.

Dustin Cohen (LB), 11 seasons - Former Berlin starter, signed in the season as a veteran backup
Danny Watts (DE), 11 seasons - Former starter for London, spent his whole career with the team but was a backup the last few years.
Kevin Clemens (HB), 11 seasons - Another Monarch who spent all his career with London, former starting FB now a backup
David Moretti (LB), 11 seasons - Came over from Montreal in a trade, the veteran couldnt crack the starting lineup and was a backup all year
David Allen (HB), 10 seasons - Former starting FB for Austria, lost his position to Ben Miller and hardly played
Jonas Lewis (HB), 10 seasons - Signed after being cut from Frankfurt but decided he would rather retire
Josh Rawlings (G), 11 seasons - Veteran starter with Berlin who was cut and signed as London as a FA
Terrance Simmons (T), 11 seasons - Another former Berlin player, signed as a backup this year after a long great career with Berlin

The team didnt lose any starters but their depth has been depleted and with 8 free spaces and with 6 draft picks they have to draft well and hope to sign a couple of veterans or trade for some players.
