AFC Championship

Ohio Glory 10-4 at Montreal Machine 12-2

Both teams had a superb season, specially Montreal who took it easy in the final week and started their backup QB.  Ohio have the 13th ranked offense and 9th best defense, Montreal the 9th best offense and 2nd ranked defense.  The teams met 6 years ago when Ohio pulled off one of the upsets ever in FWL playoff history by upsetting heavily favoured Montreal in the AFC Championship.  Montreal had been to 3 FWL Bowls in a row before Ohio stopped that streak.

Ohio welcomed back QB John Navarre who had been out for most of the last month with injury, Navarre the top ranked QB in the league this year didnt look rusty leading Ohio to a late FG.  Montreal got a nervous win over Birmingham, Machine QB Danny Wuerrfel is the best QB in history and in the playoffs in the FWL.  Ohio have some great players on offense and defense and should provide a great test for Montreal.  Should be close.

Frankfurt 8-5-1 at Berlin 10-4

Frankfurt somehow made it to the playoffs despite the 16th ranked offense and the 10th ranked defense.  However in the divisional playoff round the Galaxy were on fire and got off to a hot start against London and held on.  Berlin have the 5th ranked offense, 4th ranked defense and were 3-11 last year and 10-4 this year !  Star HB Avon Cobourne missed the game last week but could get the start this week despite being P-1.  Frankfurt beat Berlin away 27-14 but lost in Berlin 10-9.  Either way this should be a close game.

Rohan Davey has won 2 FWL Bowls for Frankfurt and despite an average season, Davey was superb last week against London and now faces QB Jeff Rowe who plays in his first ever playoff game, should be a close one, FG between them.
