Title: Gameplans HELP PLEASE !!! Post by: scottishclaymore on August 13, 2005, 06:50:29 AM Ronnie here ... Can anyone tell me if there is a guide anywere on how to compile, compose and submit gameplans ? I just do not know how to do it. The Claymores have therefore not been able to submit a gameplan since the old method of application of points for E.G. Rush, conservative, balanced and aggressive
ended a couple of seasons and the newer more detailed gameplan method started. I have a word doc copy of what the offensive gameplan should look like but just no idea how to put it together or how to submit it. I know i must seem an idiot but I just have no idea how to do this. Advice and help would be much appreciated. Thanks Ronnie Title: Re: Gameplans HELP PLEASE !!! Post by: Mario ADK on August 14, 2005, 03:45:18 AM Ronnie,
i might not quite understand what your problem is but i try to give an answer: There is an excel-spreadsheet which (i guess) can be accessed from the FWL-page (but it was sent out ages ago also....). This sheet contains of appr. 70 fixed offensive gameplans where you can choose from. Tell Paul which one you want and that is all.... was that the answer to your question, old friend? If you go to http://www.fwl.org.uk/gameplans.pdf or http://www.fwl.org.uk/gameplans.doc you'll see the document Ross did. I have to put another link on the site. This tries to explain to you how each offensive gameplan works. You CANT create your own gameplan, many experts of FBPro might be able to do gameplans with game busting plays which always get a 30 yard gain etc. Basically if you dont have the software you might be at a disadvantage as you cant run gameplans over and over to see what does the best play etc. So Ross kindly did that document for us to try and make things a bit easier. I dont use any gameplans (to prove you can win without them even though last year i lost tons !). Even though its called FBPro 97 the software like Madden was based on the season before. So as a rough guide look to see what teams were good in 1996, if you chose the Niners you'll have a ton of short passes to your RB, if you choose the Raiders you might get more incompletions but bigger plays as they did the bomb a lot, heres the NFL season from 96... http://www.pro-football-reference.com/years/1996.htm So Denver would be a good one, Carolina etc. Not saying if you choose Denver you will go 12-2 but if you look at their stats you might have more of an idea what might happen, if a team throws to the TE a lot (Eg Carolina or Denver) then if you choose that gameplan i 'assume' at the end of the season your TE will have more catches than normal. However it doesnt always mean that if you run say the Cowboys you will have a Pro Bowl HB and Pro Bowl TE and a Michael Irvin style receiver. Take it with a pinch of salt but i think it slightly changes things. Title: Re: Gameplans HELP PLEASE !!! Post by: scottishclaymore on August 15, 2005, 03:31:22 PM Thank you Mario and Paul and of course Ross for making up that original Document.
This is embarrassing. If I understand you guys right it is really very simply look through the document and find the gameplan that matches our FWL teams strengths best and give Paul that reference. I thought the document was a guide of how we could compile our own plan. Why of why oh why oh why could I not see it was as easy as that. Too many hits playing I think. :P Thank you again Mario and Paul :) Now onto the World Bowl ...... Ronnie ----------- Title: Re: Gameplans HELP PLEASE !!! Post by: Paul-London on August 16, 2005, 07:00:00 AM Ha ha no worries Ronnie. Like i say i dont use them but i think they can work well, remember the game profiles ? Where you can set run aggressive etc ? I dont think they do much at all as if the computer is trailing by 14 he'll pass like silly even if you have rush agressive on offense set to 10
The gameplans offer you a different set of plays though which will be used, i cant get into each gameplan teams use but some of the stats produced the last season or two should give you an idea of what some teams might do. Like i say look at the NFL season that year, not just a team with a 14-2 record but look closely at the stats Detroit were just 5-11 but one reason their passing was so bad was because of their QB's. However Sanders with over 1500 yards was amazing and despite a bad passing attack Herman Moore had 106 catches and Perriman 94. Overall i think the Lions offense that year was excellent, just had a poor Qb. NOT saying pick just Detroit but have a further look at teams. No point choosing a 14-2 team and use their game profile if you dont have the same sort of electric RB or amazing QB Look to see what offense you have at the moment and try to get one to fit your team, i would say you have a great young QB in Nall, a slow rushing attack . So because of that try to find an offense which doesnt feature the run so much and is more pass patterns etc |
