Title: QB's under pressure in Season 16
Post by: Paul-London on April 20, 2006, 11:52:17 AM
Tony Romo - Orlando

Romo can either be very good or very poor, he can drive his GM crazy with his play.  After taking over from Orlando legend Jon Denton he has constantly lost the job and been given other opportunities every season.  With GM Volker Sorge addicted to taking first round QB's and the Thunder apparently with a top 3 pick it would be no surprise to see another QB drafted.  Losing the last 4 games of the season and finishing with just an 89.6 rating (18th in the league) wont do Romos job prospects any good.  Plus Jon Denton played better than Romo with a better percentage (66 to 60) and his teammates seem to rally round him better.

JT O'Sullivan - Mexico

Newly acquired backup Chad Hutchinson played so well in the last two games of the season theres a chance O'Sullivan will be benched.  Once a promising QB O'Sullivan had a down year in Season 14 with just 13 td's and 7 ints and worse of all a 2-10 record.  Mexico fans want to win games and it appears Hutchinson gives them the best chance.

Jake Delhomme - Sacramento

Delhomme like Romo can be very eractic.  Delhomme did throw for over 3,700 yards and 15 td's and 5 ints but was ranked 16th in the league and had a 6 game losing streak in the season but might have saved his job with two impressive performances late on.  You cant blame Delhomme fullly, the Surge o-line had a poor year opening up holes for the rushing game and allowing a huge 64 sacks on Delhomme but backup Rob Adamson is one of the most highly regarded young QB's in the league and has done well in spot appearances.  Delhommes future as starter may be cloudy.

Dameyune Craig - Barcelona

With the trade of Chad Hutchinson the Dragons could be without a starting QB if Craig retires.  Craig enters his 12th season next year if he decides to stay on and even though he played well (13 tds 3 ints) the Dragons were 4-10 and lost 5 straight games.  With a 4-10 record will the team decide to rebuild with an obvious choice of a young QB ?

Todd Bouman - London

Bouman played well at times for London but managed just a 4-8 record and threw just 12 touchdowns, he had a great completion rate but 12 td's in 12 games isnt impressive.  Young backup BJ Symons in his first two starts played very well, was 1-1 and despite fumbling a fair few times had a 106.4 rating and completed an amazing 75.4% of his passes.  Bouman may come back for one more year which would be his 12th but it appears Symons is the new starter.

Danny Wuerrfel - Montreal

As crazy as this may seem backup Dave Ragone played so well in the Week 14 end of season clash Wuerrfel could perhaps have a tough fight on his hands.  Wuerrfel in the past has seen off a young Michael Bishop and Mike Pawlawski but Wuerrfel who enters his 10th season next year may have won 3 FWL Bowls but thats in the past.  In the 'what have you done for me lately' Wuerrfel had a great regular season but Machine fans expect FWL Bowl wins.  Wuerrfel is 1-3 in his last 4 playoff games (Including FWL Bowl XIII) and the pressure is on Wuerrfel next year to get back to a final.  One of the best QB's of all time the veteran could be traded perhaps to a younger team as Montreal are very high on Ragone.  The Montreal offense ranked just 13th this year with the 15th ranked passing attack.

Curt Anes - Austria

Anes has to fight the monkey on his shoulder which is simply the fact that GM Kreiner has declared that nothing else but winning the FWL-Bowl is the ADK-goal for season #16.

Anes had a strange season #15 with a lot of TDs and a good completion-rate but with many many intercepted passes as well. Will he lead his team to the ultimate goal or will he be dumped during the season?

Nobody would like to step into Anes´shoes next season.....

Well Anes has a 100+ rating the last 3 seasons so you have a good one. I think with some QB's you have to match their skills with a particular gameplan.

But true with all the talent on offense Anes has no excuse next year, big year for him

With Season 15 still ongoing for the Dark Knights, isn't this a little premature?

No.
Ath the beginning of Season 14 i set my goal and i stick to them:
Season 14: EFC-WEST-TITLE (==> got it)
Season 15: EFC-CHAMPION (==> can make it)
Season 16: FWL-CHAMPION (==> would remain as my outspoken goal even if i am defeated tomorrow....)
