Title: Paris release two players
Post by: Paul-London on April 28, 2006, 05:07:55 AM
In order to re-sign their two players on I.R the Musketeers today announced they had released backup FB Zack Abron and LB Al Rice.  Abron was a surprise to make the roster but had no carries this year.  The decision to cut Rice has upset some Musketeer fans but the decision to cut 8th year pro (soon to be 9th) was a tough one as Rice is the franchises all time leading tackler. He had just 5 tackles this year and the writing was on the wall for Rice but he has 496 tackles and 31 sacks in his career and has been a great servant for the team.  Unless he is signed by another team Rice has said maybe its time to retire.  He had 72 tackles and 5 sacks in Season 13 but his numbers have gone down from 49 in Season 14 to just 5 tackles last year

Another veteran FA that was just released is Frankfurt Galaxys:

   TE         Swift, Justin            OK     9     93 86 82 86 81 85 79 74

He was moved down to TE 2 this season but still had

Receiving             Rec     Yds   Avg   Lg   TD

Swift                  10     175  17.5   26    0

his great speed he also showed in special teams

KO Returns            Ret     Yds    Avg   Lg   TD

Swift                   2      67   33.5   60    0

Overall an athlete who deserves to be signed somewhere else

Yep Swift is a very good TE, one i may have a look at !

His last few years....

Season 12 - 40     613  15.3   80    3 *
Season 13 - 51     698  13.7   33    2 *
Season 14 - 39     495  12.7   26    5

Was named All-FWL in seasons 12 and 13.  Started for the Galaxy for 3 straight years, Season 13 and 14 the team won the FWL Bowl and as the starting TE Swift has 2 FWL Bowl rings !  Swift was originally drafted by Frankfurt at the end of season 5 and played for Frankfurt for 10 seasons.  If he doesnt retire Swift could be a very good TE next season....

TE         Swift, Justin            OK     9     93 86 82 86 81 85 79 74
