Title: Draft Order Post by: JH-SanAntonio on December 15, 2006, 01:41:13 PM Fairly sure the tail end of the draft should be:
11. SA (8-6, wild card, lost div game, lost to FRA, R-D) 12. R-D (8-6, wild card, lost div game, lost to FRA) 13. Frankfurt (8-6, wild card, lost div game) 14. Austria (10-3-1, wild card, lost div game) 15. NY (8-6, div winner, lost conf game) 16. Amsterdam (11-3, div winner, lost conf game) 17. Montreal (10-4, div winner, lost title game) 18. Scotland (13-1, div winner, won title game) The current list makes no sense whatsoever. Even a "Well, this is the quirky FWL" list would have, at worst, NY and Austria swapped on the above listing. Title: Re: Draft Order Post by: Mario ADK on December 17, 2006, 03:44:19 AM guys, Paul opened this thread already somewhere else in the forum, no use to make parallel threads.
Anyway: Here is what really has been standard in teh FWL for years.... We have been discussing it over and over the last couple of seasons again and again and always followed the same path..... Paul will surely agree to that.... (if any more discussions are necessary i suggest we take Pauls thread so we do not have two of them....) If theres any problems on this list then let me know in this thread and why it should be changed and i'll do it... 1) Rhein 2) Berlin 3) Paris 4) Ohio 5) Orlando 6) Barcelona 7) London 8) Sacramento 9) Mexico 10) Birmingham 11) New York 12) San Antonio 13) Frankfurt 14) Raleigh-Durham 15) Austria 16) Amsterdam 17) Montreal 18) Scotland To all: We discussed draft order in detail last season AND the season before in the forum and came to a conclusion how the FWL would adopt NFL-rules (with one exception). Here is the link once again: http://fwl.pocketplane.net/index.php?topic=336.msg2478#msg2478 We (FWL) always applied that principle that WC-losers pick ahead of WC-winners and it is - as far as i understand it now - an exeption of adopting NFL-rules. NFL-rules would do do this...... 1. The Super Bowl winner (Austria) is last and the Super Bowl loser San Antonio) next-to-last. 2. but the rest is based on the W/L-record, just as David (Mon) stated in the old discussion in the thread above. ....and here is the NFL-tiebreaker in case of identical W/L-records..... 2. Any non-Super Bowl playoff club involved in a tie shall be assigned priority within its segment below that of non-playoff clubs and in the order that the playoff clubs exited from the playoffs. Thus, within a tied segment a playoff club that loses in the Wild-Card game will have priority over a playoff club that loses in the Divisional playoff game, which in turn will have priority over a club that loses in the Conference Championship game. If two tied clubs exited the playoffs in the same round, the tie is broken by strength of schedule. If any ties cannot be broken by strength of schedule, the divisional or conference tie breakers, whichever are applicable, are applied. Any ties that still exist are broken by a coin flip. So using our exeption-rule the draft order among Playoff-teams is #18 Scottish (Bowl) #17 Montreal (Runner-up) =========== #16 Amsterdam (11-3) #15 New York (8-6) ============ #14 Austria (10-3-1) #13 Raleigh (9-5) #12 San Antonio (8-6) #11 Frankfurt (8-5-1) ============ Rest according to W/L (and in case of a tie Strengh of schedule......) #10 Birmingham (7-7) #9 Sacramento (6-8) with Sos 66-74 #8 Mexico (6-8) with Sos 79-75 #7 London (5-8-1) #6 Barcelona (5-9) #5 Ohio (4-10) with Sos 74-64 #4 Orlando (4-10) with Sos 75-65 #3 Paris (4-10) with Sos 79-61 #2 Berlin (3-10-1) #1 Rhein (3-11) Just to compare: If we would NOT use this exepton it would be: #18 Scottish (Bowl) #17 Montreal (Runner-up) =========== #16 Amsterdam (11-3) #15 Austria (10-3-1) #14 Raleigh (9-5) #13 New York (8-6) with Sos 59-81 #12 San Antonio (8-6) with SoS 79-75 #11 Frankfurt (8-5-1) and the Rest just like above.... ============ Hope everything is clear now.... Title: Re: Draft Order Post by: Paul-London on December 18, 2006, 12:10:41 PM Thanks for that, looks to be fine so i'll be going with that list unless anyone has an issue with it
Title: Re: Draft Order Post by: Marco_Frankfurt on December 19, 2006, 03:38:23 AM Actually to my disadvantage:
a 8-5-1 record is better then a 8-6 so San Antonio should pick before me, because from all WC loosers they have the worst record Title: Re: Draft Order Post by: Paul-London on December 19, 2006, 08:29:06 AM Yep true, thanks for being honest !
