Title: TC17: Tell us how your Team did!
Post by: Mario ADK on March 15, 2007, 05:02:04 PM
AUSTRIA:

Not bad at all... 33 of the 53 players improved by 10+ points, making the team as a unit notably stronger as in last season.....

Highlights:
QB3 Piere had a nice TC and closed the gap to QB2 Mauck
OL: Lougheed, Evans and Schmitt had great TCs with 15+ points...
K Pochman: +21!
Incredible performance by the DLs, lead by 1st rounder Fuchs: +20!
LBs: Good results for the starters

Lowlights:
Don´t find any unexpected flops.... (at the strengh ofmy team you get used to the fact that some superstars don´t grow much anymore...)

All in all: well done, guys...

Let the season begin!

R-D

Offence
QB's
Not bad, Rookie Brett Elliott had the best camp
HB's
VERY good Alexander went up just 5 but young backup Fred Russel went up 18  also
starting FB Flowers went up 9
WR's/TE's
Not Bad
Most players went up 7,8 but Rookie Vance was very disappointing
O-Line
Good most went up 8,9 and G Rob Droege(Who was up for trade) went up 21  :)(R-D's Overall Best)
Defence
D-line
VERY BAD
my two starting DT's went down overall  (went down a combined 9 in just SP ST AG)
BUT
Veteran Benetka and Sweeney Went up 9 and 12
LB's
OK all went up 6,7,8
DB's
Good
Again most went up 6,7 with every players EN going up at least two

OVERALL
Not the best camp ever but not to bad. Would have been better if it was not for D-Linemen,
Did this happen to anyone else?????????

are you sure you compared the right figures?
remember: there was a reduction regrading DLs just before the start of last season.

maybe you had the roster copied into a file (like excel) BEFORE the reductions where made and used the "old" one (before reduction) to compare it with the latest ratings???

that happened to me first until i realised that i used the wrong base.....

nevertheless: your TC does not look very impressive anyway....

Unless I am making a major miscalculation (and I know that is always possible) this has to be the worst Training camp the Claymores have ever had.

A few players have moved up a little as would be expected to their age but equally key players have stayed the same or moved down.

For example Mike Malan (HB) is the key to our running game but for some time we needed to get his speed up and we have worked on that on several Training Camps.
This year we added an attribute of 30 (max possible) to speed. And Malan increased by.... NOTHING.

Just an example.

Really gutted.

I spent a LOT of time working out the Training Camp as it is absolutely crucial to where we want to go.

The Claymores look like a differant team but not for the better considering we have just been through TC. And yep of course i allowed minimums to all areas.

No point on moaning or whinging though. Will just have to get on with it.

Thats life.  But yep... gutted especially with Malan.

Ronnie,

needless to say that i feel terribly sorry  that my fiercest divison-rival had a bad TC  :P, i just wanted to remeind you that aging players lose points after the end of a season season and therefore you basically need to invest in order gain back those points.... inly in a few cases an overaged player comes out better than teh season before....

Malan is a 7yr veteran wo he lost points and basically you did a good job in gaining them back....

I think when some players reach a certain age they just dont seem to go up much in camp, Malan is a quality player, bit like Curtis Alexander, when the retirements were announced both players went down a fair few points, Alexander managed to get some back in camp but Malan due to all the hard hits hes been taking doesnt seem to have changed much
