Title: OL Pete Swanson the newest training camp victim Post by: Marco_Frankfurt on March 16, 2007, 07:16:33 AM The GM of the Frankfurt Galaxy announced today, that OL Pete Swanson will not return to the team, after the end of the training camp. He remains protected just after the week 1 games and then becomes a Free Agent.
"We hope he can find a new team, as he is in great shape despite his age. I think he could start in most teams in the FWL and he deserves to play. However we have to make this cut, to keep our roster fresh and prevent our Line from overaging. If there is a team out there that would like to sign him right now, we would accept a (very) low draft pick for him, even if we all know he is worth a lot more. Personally we wish him well and that he can show once more his great talent." Scouts still rate him as one of the best OL-men: G Swanson, Pete OK 11 85 86 88 92 49 89 77 78 He is still a great overall athlete and neither his strenght nor his endurance provide any concern. With the exception of C he can play any postion on the line or at least give depth to any team as the primary backup. As a starter he could maybe even play more then one more season, so a lot of teams should try to get this player. |
