Title: Backupmania in Austria Post by: Mario ADK on May 28, 2007, 03:23:14 AM With just very little hope to win the EFC West left, GM Kreiner announced that he will start all backups in the rather meaningless games against Paris and Scotland.
First of all he was really disappointed with the performance of Backup-QB Matt Mauck who flopped for the second time - he will be benchend and in come Third-String-Rookie Brian St- Piere, who was drafted in the 6th round this season but had a terriffic trainings camp. "He can“t do worse than Mauck, so he will have his chance...", Kreiner said.... More than that ADK will give HB Ken Simonton a rest after his nice 118yds-game against Barcelona, giving Sultan McCollough a chance to prove that he has the potential to start next season. WRs Brown and Jennings will also be promoted to starters. Regarding the lines and LBs undisclosed changes will be made... Finally Kreiner announced that the backups in the defensive backfield finally get a chance. "I give it a go", he said, "as players like Austin, Smith and Canonico are playing for the next seasons contract....". Kreiner expects his team to finish the season with a 9-5 record and is focusing toward the EFC-playoffs. "It is almost impossible to beat Amsterdam or London on their own field, and the only way we could do that is at full strengh." |
