Title: Wildcard Games Post by: Paul-London on June 06, 2007, 04:11:42 AM Raleigh-Durham at Montreal
In the past the Skyhawks have given Montreal problems but without their star HB Curtis Alexander they will find things very hard against Montreal. GM David Harwood has done a great job this year, Montreal have some great young and veteran players on their side and QB Danny Wuerrfel is one of the best. The team have a ton of playoff experience and should win this game quite easily. Credit to Raleigh for getting to the playoffs for two consecutive years (Raleigh have only been to the playoffs 3 times) but injuries and playing away in Montreal have hurt them. Montreal by 7 Austria at London A classic rivalry happens in London next Saturday. Austria who for so long beat up on poor London now have a huge task ahead of them. They have rested their players for weeks but London host their first playoff game as EFC West winners for many many years. London didnt play a great game against Amsterdam, still they had more first downs than the Admirals and lost by only a point away in Amsterdam. Losing WR Triandos Luke will hurt but former star Latef Frim could be a surprise starter. Austria are practically injury free but could be a bit rusty. London by 7 Mexico at Ohio Mexico are an excellent team right now and are the hottest team in the league with a 5 game winning streak. Ohio have played brilliant football this year and their turnaround from 3-11 last year to 10-4 this year has been exceptional. Ohio welcome back many starters and are injury free on the whole apart from WR Bosley Allen who could miss yet another game. Mexico lost their QB and FB last week and its a risk if the Aztecs start them for this game but JT O'Sullivan will be gearing up to go and is begging his GM to start. Should be a great game, probably the closest game of the weekend. Ohio by 3 Scotland at Amsterdam Its the time for revenge as Scotland defeat Amsterdam in last years EFC Championship but this year Amsterdam are the team with the homefield advantage. After a poor game in Week 13 behind a huge crowd this week they looked brilliant in defeating London. The scoreline was still close but the defense and rushing game had a huge game against the Monarchs. Scotland earlier this year had a terrible defense and offense, the offense has improved, well the rushing game has but the passing game ranks last. The defense is now a top 10 defense after some very poor earlier games in the season. Amsterdam went crazy over Londons top ranked defense and ran the ball for over 150 yards. Amsterdam could do the same against Scotland despite an impressive Claymores defense. Claymores QB Craig Nall who was MVP last year really needs to rebound after a quiet season but against Amsterdam it'll be tough. Amsterdam by 7 Title: Re: Wildcard Games Post by: Mario ADK on June 06, 2007, 05:30:01 AM my pennies:
Montreal by 8 Austria by 6 Ohio by 3 Amsterdam by 6 Title: Re: Wildcard Games Post by: Paul-London on June 06, 2007, 05:31:46 AM Must admit i'm quietly confident, HB Joe Hall may struggle running the ball, he has been hot/cold all year but with the top ranked defense i'm confident of stopping you ! All depends on how your team performs, will they be 'rusty' after a few weeks off or totally on top of their game ready for this one ?
Should be a classic, nice to see the London/Austria rivalry back Title: Re: Wildcard Games Post by: Mark-skyhawks on June 06, 2007, 05:50:54 AM I am just pleased to be in the playoffs 2nd time in a ROW !!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;D ;D ;D
A first In RDS History In my Opinion: Montreal London Mexico Amsterdam Title: Re: Wildcard Games Post by: Mario ADK on June 09, 2007, 07:59:40 AM Jipiiiiieeehhhhhh!!!!
;D Two tough defenses in a bitter playoff-clash. The EFC-crown is just one game away..... would love to see the highlight-film.... Title: Re: Wildcard Games Post by: Paul-London on June 09, 2007, 08:04:44 AM Yep congrats. My team played very flat, Joe Hall was stuffed totally. One of the keys for me was your secondary, WR Travis Anglin, All-FWL this year had 4 catches for 40 odd yards, TE Jeff Nicholson had just one catch. Your CB1 totally shut down Anglin
