Title: New York rookie hopes for impact this year
Post by: Paul-London on October 20, 2007, 11:57:05 AM
At the draft combine Larry Brackins had a previous back injury flare up from his days in college.  "I badly sprained my back a year ago but the doctors said it would be fine" said Brackins, "However at the combine for whatever reason it just flared up, I tried doing the weights to prove my strength last month at the FWL combine but I just couldnt lift anything".

Brackins last month at the FWL combine in front of many scouts had a terrible day lifting weights.  Because of that the scouts rated his strength as very poor (62 out of 99) and thats the main reason Brackins slipped all the way down to Round 7 of the FWL draft.

A month later and after careful treatment with his back Brackins is looking in great condition.  "I think I can be a surprise this year" said Brackins, "I had several huge years in college but because of this back injury most FWL teams didnt want to take a chance on me".  "I would like to thank New York for putting faith in me and selecting me late in the draft, I want to prove people wrong" said Brackins.

Indeed Brackins could suprise many this year, after being drafted by New York last night , Brackins flew straight to the Big Apple and this weekend with his teammates for the first time in mini camp Brackins looked brilliant.  "He certainly looks far better than he did a month ago" said a NY scout, "He couldnt lift anything last month but has looked great so far in camp, he could be a surprise this year".
