Title: Week 2 Preview
Post by: Paul-London on November 01, 2007, 04:03:11 AM
Raleigh-Durham at Orlando

Both teams had heart breaking losses in Week 1 specially Raleigh.  Its essential for both teams to not go 0-2, Kliff Kingsbury looked good for Orlando last week and will hope to have success against one of the worst secondaries in the FWL.  Raleigh have to bounce back, they should have won last week but fumbled it away, its tough to be on the road in any game but Raleigh need the win more.

Austria at New York

New York were terrible last week but were away from home and faced a very good defense.  This will be a true sign of what they can do as they'll be at home for this clash possibly facing Austrias backup QB and a team who also lost one of their best offensive linemen.  Austria should win but New York could possibly cause a surprise at home.

Montreal at Mexico

Tough tough start for Montreal, away to London last week who were 12-2 and away this week to Mexico who are one of the top teams in the AFC.  IT didnt look that way last week though as Mexico were upset by the Riders.  Montreal looked poor against London but the Monarchs are a top team in the league but you expect more from the reigning champs.  Could Montreal really go 0-2 ?

Ohio at Sacramento

Should be a great game, both teams had close wins last week in the final seconds.  Sacramento really are led by Captain Comeback as Rob Adamson has won a lot of games late on.  Ohio have a great defense and played well in all areas last week but travel away in this difficult clash.  Ohio are the stronger team and Sacramento have to get a rushing game going but we're going to go with the surprise team and Sacramento in an upset.

Paris at Berlin

One of these teams will go 2-0 !  Both had great wins last week specially Paris who really beat up Frankfurt and held on for a late win.  Tiny Avon Cobourne ran the Claymores ragged and Berlin with their rookie QB and a big home crowd could beat Paris here and move to an impressive 2-0 on the season.  Dont count out Paris though who have some real talent on defense, might finally have a rushing attack and weapons in the passing game.

Amsterdam at Frankfurt

The season is only one week old but theres some major surprises happening.  One of these teams could go 0- 2 ! Amsterdam were the EFC favourites last year but might regret sending Joe Hamilton to the bench.  They travel away to Frankfurt which is always difficult and have to try and run the ball against this team.  Frankfurt nearly came back last week against Paris but should play far better at home.  So close to call.

San Antonio at Rhein

Yep you guessed it, one of these surprise teams will go 2-0 !  Both teams had nice wins in Week 1 specially San Antonio.  It may take a while for their rookie HB to get going but so far a great move by Jason Hink to start Clint Stoerner.  Rhein still struggle on the ground, they've changed their line countless times but there are still no holes for Tony Hollings to run through.

London at Scotland

Bad home defeat for Scotland last week and they will look to shore up their leaky run defense.  London had a great win at home which was very 'Monarch-esque', pound it out on the ground, Henson throws some big plays to his WR's and the defense shut down the opposing offense.  Could be a low scoring game here but Scotland really need this one to avoid going 0-2.

Birmingham at Barcelona

Tough opening game for Tony Romo but he should bounce back.  The Dragons cant afford to lose two straight home games though.  Birmingham were great in Week 1 but now face a test away from home.
