Title: Week 6 Preview
Post by: Paul-London on November 26, 2007, 05:35:00 AM
Barcelona at Montreal

Poor Barcelona, they have played well this year and are a better team than last year but are still winless.  They now travel to Montreal, a historically tough place to play and the Machine wont be happy after their loss last week.  The Machine are superb at home and should win this easily.

Birmingham at Mexico

The Aztecs have played well but have lost two straight in two tough close losses.  If they want any chance of doing something this year they have to win this game against Birmingham who are one of the top teams in the AFC.  The Fire won a great game against Montreal last week but will face another tough game here.

Sacramento at San Antonio

The Riders are a surprise package this year with a rookie HB and a new QB in Stoerner.  Sacramento might be without starting QB Rob Adamson this week.  The Surge were 2-0 but have lost 3 straight and now face a very tough task here.

Raleigh-Durham at Frankfurt

The Skyhawks might be 1-4 but they have lost many close games, however their 0-3 record at home is very poor so it might be actually good that Raleigh are on the road !  Frankfurt lost a heartbreaker to Rhein last week as they couldnt get the ball in from 1st and goal from the 1 in the final 30 seconds.  Frankfurt need to get back to winning ways but Raleigh can score points, its their defense which is the problem.

Berlin at Amsterdam

In recent times this game would look very one sided but Berlin are playing superb football this year and are 4-1 and leading the EFC !  Amsterdam have won 3 straight games after starting 0-2 and have allowed just 11 points in the last two matches.  This will be a true test for Berlin who go on the road to Amsterdam, a very tough place to play.

Rhein at London

London were embarassed last week losing to Orlando just a week after beating Austria and leading the EFC West division.  The team missed WR Travis Anglin badly, veteran WR Jim Turner did well with 11 catches but lacks speed and the London offense had no big plays.  Rhein won a great game last week and will be full of confidence for another upset.

Orlando at Austria

On paper this looked and easy game but Orlando have played very well in recent weeks and beat London last week.  QB Curt Anes might be back for Austria as the DarkKnights really need a win here as they are at 2-3, the worst record for GM Mario Kreiner at Week 5 for many years.

Ohio at Paris

Paris are one of the surprise teams this year, they look a totally different team on offense and defense specially thanks to a great trade.  DE Michael Josiah who is a legend in Ohio returned to the Glory last week in a trade as he played the first 4 games of the season for Paris.  In return Paris picked up DE Derrick Crawford.  The two players combined for 40 sacks last year for Ohio and will meet on opposing sides for the first time. Could be a great game, Paris are full of confidence but Ohio are an impressive AFC team.

New York at Scotland

The Claymores have won 3 games after starting 0-2 but now face the NY Knights who are an impressive side. However New York have lost their top two starting RB's so will have to start a 3rd stringer against the tough Claymores defense.  Scotland get the win as they are at home.
