Title: Rhein players nervous Post by: Paul-London on November 28, 2007, 12:07:44 PM The last few years there hasnt been much change to the Rhein Fire roster, the last two seasons the team has finished 3-11 yet still most of the players kept their jobs.
However they are nervous now. New GM Joe Scannella has looked over the roster and is surprised the team have won 2 games already. That quote alone seems to suggest there will be a lot of changes coming up for the Week 6 game. The Fire cant be changed overnight or even the rest of this season but piece by piece Scannella is determined to get the team to the playoffs and to start winning games and divisional titles. On paper the young QB's do have talent but dont seem to play that way on the field as Rhein have the worst passing attack in the league and also the worst offense overall. WR Scottie Vines is the lightest starting WR in the league and last year had an incredible year with 97 catches and was named All-FWL but could be sent packing as Scannella might go with heavier WR's who can also block. The defense which this year is actually ranked in the top 5 has been poor the last few seasons and there could be a lot of changes there. The secondary made up of many 1st round draft picks is playing well this season but the unit also needs a big shake up. There is some good young talent in Rhein but can Scannella mould the team into a winning organisation ? |
