Title: Whats going wrong in London
Post by: Paul-London on November 29, 2007, 05:19:46 AM
Last year they were the surprise of the league going 12-2.  This year after 5 games the Monarchs are 3-2 and look like they will be declining sharply from last season.  The team have been very erractic, one week beating Austria and then the next losing to winless Orlando.

Legend Kinnon Tatum who is slowing down was benched then brought back into the starting lineup when Brian Rogers play was declining. The offense is ranked 17th , next to last in passing but are doing very well on the ground.  However their defense is ranked 18th, worst in the league.

The team did lose depth in the offseason with many retirements and hardly any draft picks to fill those holes and instead had to sign several street FA's.  However the starters just arent playing well on offense and defense.  Their best WR from last year Travis Anglin will miss 3 games with injury, in his place WR Jim Turner has done well but has no speed.

In 5 games Drew Henson has been knocked out of games 3 times and seems to be exceedingly fragile.  If London dont improve over the next few games look out for some major changes all over the team.
