Title: Paris offensive line reason for improvement
Post by: Paul-London on January 10, 2008, 05:21:28 AM
Paris made some great trades this year, bringing in LB Steve Jasue was a great one and HB Thunder Collins.  The key however might have been G Gene Mruczkowksi

Mruczkowksi was with Berlin last year but came to Paris in a blockbuster deal before the draft where they gave all their picks and Mruc to Paris for the top overall pick.  The trade worked well for both teams, Berlin drafted QB Jeff Rowe with the top pick and they are off to the playoffs.

Mruczkowski however has really helped the Paris offensive line.  A year ago Paris allowed the 4th worst sacks in the league with 60.

A year later, some changes on the offensive line and Mruczkowski starting and theres a huge change.  Paris after 13 games have allowed the fewest sacks in the league with 32 and have a rushing attack with HB Thunder Collins who had over 200 yards this week against Paris.

Some great moves and trades for the Musketeers the last offseason.

That was a great trade by the old GM - we'ver certainly got the O-line working better this year. The running game has been a bit ropey (we were ranked dead last two weeks ago, but that 200 yards against London pushed us up the rankings), but being able to throw the ball without getting pummelled by the pass-rush is a fantastic bonus!

Yeah the old GM did make some good moves, like you say that one for that offensive linemen was one and the trade for QB Ryan Dinwiddie was another good move
