Title: Trades galore Post by: Paul-London on February 23, 2008, 05:38:52 AM Its like there are several Mario Kreiners with all the trades happening ! A quick look at them....
- Raleigh pick up two starters in G Jon Dorenbos and LB Rikiya Ishida from Austria whilst the DarkKnights stock up on draft picks - The rebuilding in Rhein is starting with two players to rivals Berlin in exchange for a 1st round pick and a talented young pass rusher in DE Herron - After some great years in London veteran WR Travis Anglin moves back to Orlando, in return London get a backup LB and a draft pick as it looks like they wil go with their young WR's this year. How will Drew Henson cope with a new WR1 for him to throw to after Anglin has been there all his career ? - Frankfurt trade away most of their top picks for some talented players from the Riders. San Antonio now have a whole host of draft picks and could be a team to watch for the future if they have a great draft - Austria seem to have acquired their new starting WR in speedster Jamel Broussard - London trade veteran DE Ioane to the Dragons, Ioane had 11 sacks last year and is very constant. London in return pickup a backup TE but also a great move for a veteran tackle in Kareem Marshall. - Rhein again make another great trade, pick up their new starting QB Dave Ragone. - Austria shed two more veterans, their 6 year All-FWL WR Matthew Hatchette who led the league last year in yards/catches and TE Ben Watson. With Phil Stambaugh back at QB he must be salivating at the prospect of throwing to Hatchette and Watson. thumbs up Title: Re: Trades galore Post by: Paul-London on February 23, 2008, 10:08:34 AM Well got a good core of owners and some very good new ones. You also, (sounds weird i know) get attached to a lot of players and enjoy seeing them play their full career. I think David will be in tears for weeks when Wuerrfel one day retires !
Must admit after this year i'll put Word on an inactive slot just before retirements to try to 'hint' to him to go ! Player stats have gone down but must admit he still keeps producing. But yeah the FWL's been going since 1997 so its amazing how long its lasted. I personally love the player stats though specially now that vets have played all their career in the FWL, not like season 1 where we had players starting with 5 or so years. I dont think you have to take that much time with your team, you can just monitor emails, make weekly changes and thats it but on the other hand its fun to get really involved. I write up a lot about my team as it makes it more fun, must admit makes it tougher to trade long time players i've spent ages developing in camp after drafting them etc. Its also fun looking back at past drafts like NFL magazines do and see what the good/bad picks were. Seeing the rise and fall of some teams is interesting. Andreas has done a great job bring Berlin back to be a great team. Tough job for Ross but its sad to see once proud Barcelona so poor at the moment. Montreal are just a collosal machine but it'll be interesting to see what happens once Wuerffel leaves that team at some stage. I also like it when ex GM's come back so its been good this offseason, losing you was bad (and a surprise) but good to get Ross and Jason back. Totally forgot about Jason and all the articles he sends me ! The page that comes up is season 10. Yes for some reason i dont have a 'trades1.htm' page Hopefully someone can help me out with that, some GM's have kept lots of the old HTML pages, perhaps Marco might have it ? Hopefully its not lost forever ! - Update i think i've found it, try it now or press F5 to load the latest page. Should be there |
