Title: New York Drops Quarterback Post by: Philip - New York on February 23, 2008, 08:11:31 PM New York - Quarterback Wes Pate was asked to come and see the new GM Phil Schofield today for a closed door meeting. Wes left the meeting and immediatly called a press conference. He was visibly upset and told his agent to "shut up." Pate stated to the media that, "I was brought here to take over the Quarterback position when QB Phil Stambaugh finally decided to leave. This Schofield guy calls me in and tells me that I havent developed as the management has hoped and they have made a decision. I thought I was going to London or Ohio, but nooooooo he tells me I am released! I will play again and New York will regret this decision.
General Manager Phil Schofield stated that the decision was simple. "Pate was not a very good quarterback, unfortunately he is far greater talker than a player." QB Phil Stambaugh will start this season and will be backed up by young and upcoming star Jason Campbell. Should be a great year to be a Knight quarterback! |
