Title: Wind of Change in Barcelona Post by: Ross@Barcelona on March 14, 2008, 09:13:57 AM A wind of Change is blowing through the seafront hotel in Sitges that is home to the Barcelona Dragons. Gone are many familiar faces from last season, some retired, some traded and more than a few let go. The change is furteher exemplified by the League high 21 rookies on the Dragons roster this season.
Old Vets such as WR Damon Savage was let go prior to camp in order to allow him to take up chance to play in Rhein. "He is a warrior, someone I have the highest regard for but he isn'tgoing to want the pain of this rebuilding process so we felt it was best to let him go and find the right opportunity", said GM. Other older vets were asked to stay home from camp whilst the staff looked at the new young players. Both Qb Romo ad HB Jamal Robertson seem lively and ready to go. "These guys have been around a while now and don't need camp like the 21 rookies do" said Mather. One player who doesn't know whether he was coming or going was TE Yoan Schnee who moed to London, went to camp and then promptly came back. Mather again, "This is the first year of a rebuilding programme, don't expect to see us lift trophies this year but the young guys will learn and this is a good basis for the next few years." Title: Re: Wind of Change in Barcelona Post by: Paul-London on March 14, 2008, 09:52:51 AM Done a great job so far. After a 0-14 season you might as well do a 'Bridson' and totally revamp the squad (Obviously Bridson did a 'Bridson' when he took over the reigning champs which isnt ideal !)
The defense couldnt be any worse from last year, over a 3 game stretch i think they allowed about 120 points ! A new HB in Lee was your best pickup, think theres a fair bit of talent on your team, just have to get that defense to play better |
