Title: Worst penalty ever?
Post by: jcompton-Orlando on March 25, 2008, 11:29:20 AM
Makes me wonder if we have ever had pass interference on a Kill Clock.

Code:
Offensive holding, #68 Zach Wilson
10 yards and down over

Austria's ball on their 19 yard line. Second and less than 12 to go. :12
left in the second quarter. The score is Ohio 10, Austria 14.

Austria's QB1 #2 Curt Anes downs the ball. Anes runs for a loss of almost 2
yards. The play is called back on the penalty against the offense. Second
and just over 21 to go. That was Run Clock (2256) against Ohio's run outside
audible from Pass long (2260).

Thank god it wasnt one of those dumb ones where a team kneels down near the end of a half/game and then gets caught for a safety !  Sure we've had that before, i remember apologising to the Mexico GM as one game ended terribly, 'may' have been a kneel down which in the end was a safety.

Montreal had a great comeback this week but at 20-0 down why did they then go for a 2 pointer when they scored ?  3 td's plus XP's would have done it.   If they had failed on the 2 pointer and then scored 2 td's with XP's it would have been 20-20 and headed to overtime, thankfully there wasnt any controversy !
