Title: Week 6 Preview Post by: Paul-London on April 15, 2008, 03:53:33 AM Austria at Mexico
Should be an epic clash between 5-0 Mexico and 4-1 Austria. Both teams are playing very very good football, Mexico have looked good with backup HB Ian Smart and Austria behind Sultan McCullough who is having a career best year. Austria QB Curt Anes needs to pick up the pace though. Mexico should get the win as they are at home but it could be very close. Mexico by 3 Ohio at Sacramento Both teams have been disappointing this year, Ohio looked good at 3-1 but fell apart against Mexico late on. Sacramento cant seem to find a decent RB and QB Drew Olsen is struggling as the team have fallen to 1-4. Ohio needs the win here, surely Sacramento are better than 1-4 ? Ohio by 3 San Antonio at Montreal Old rivals Hink vs Harwood meet up once again. San Antonio played their best football of the season last week against Frankfurt whereas Montreal played poorly in their win. Montreal should be far better at home specially against their rivals and HB Ken Simonton has to get back to his best. Montreal by 3 Raleigh-Durham at Rhein Rhein have moved to 2-3 and are looking far better than last year, WR Damon Savage has helped the passing attack and HB Tony Hollings is improving week by week. Raleigh do have a lot of stars but cant seem to put it all together. At times they played well against Amsterdam but just couldnt score points. We're going for an upset in this one as Raleigh win away in Rhein. Raleigh by 7 Amsterdam at Frankfurt After last weeks heartbreaking loss Frankfurt need to bounce back as at 2-3 they need to lead the playoff pack. With a weak EFC this year the 4th seed in the playoffs is currently shared with three 2-3 teams. Amsterdam have looked like champions and more, if they keep away from injury they look set to repeat. It'll be hard to win away in Frankfurt (who are 2-0 at home but 0-3 on the road) but Amsterdam are just a machine this year. Amsterdam by 7 Berlin at London Major changes could be happening in London. After trading away several veterans last year theyre missing Junior Ioane and Nick Burley on the defensive line as teams are running through them and passing on them. London will bounce back in the future once their young stars get experience but for now its tough to watch. Berlin switched to QB Nate Hybl who didnt do much after a good early start, London badly need the win here. These two teams were in the playoffs last year but are now a combined 2-7 this season ! London by 7 Orlando at Scotland Scotland somehow won last week when they should have easily lost. Orlando had their best game of the season against London but now face a tough Scotland team who are 4-1, on a 3 game winning streak and are at home. The Claymores should win but Orlando behind HB Dee Brown looked far better on offense last week. Scotland by 7 Birmingham at Paris Birmingham are coming off their first loss, a tough loss in overtime and now face a tricky Paris side who nearly beat Austria last week. Paris may be 1-4 but they do have a lot of talent. Despite their stars on offense they have only scored 58 points in 5 games (worst in the league) and have allowed the most on defense. Paris bounced back from their Ohio mauling with a near upset of Austria but this could be tough. Birmingham by 10 New York at Barcelona Dragon fans would love nothing more than to beat their former GM who jumped ship after a 0-14 season last year with Barcelona. The Dragons are on a 19 game losing streak but week by week are improving. Their young stars nearly beat Scotland last week and at home the Dragons must fancy their chances. New York have a lot of talent on offense but are very eractic, can Barcelona cause the huge upset ? We think its possible. Barcelona by 3 Title: Re: Week 6 Preview Post by: jcompton-Orlando on April 15, 2008, 06:53:58 PM Meanwhile the computer, 0-3 with its upset special picks last week, isn't completely chastened--it's still picking Amsterdam to lose to a foe with an inferior record!
Title: Re: Week 6 Preview Post by: Paul-London on April 15, 2008, 07:54:10 PM To be fair it could be a good one, Frankfurt 2-0 at home this year but 0-3 on the road !

The computer predicted the same score last week R-D 23 vs Admirals 22. maybe the computer is making some illegals bets or the computer's real name is Mario ;D |
