Danny Wuerffel (MONT) set a new record for career passing yards passing former record holder Pat Barnes (45143) with 45196 yards. He also had his 200th TD also a great milestone in his career. Danny Wuerffel ceratinly is one of the best, if not the best QB all time, as he has not only set many career records, but also got his share of success in FWL Bowls and many many playoffs appearances.

If Danny is playing another season he would be able to extend the records so far, that most likely they will never be broken !

Oops !  Cant believe i missed this !

Yep its great he set those two records this week. Been a long season for Montreal but its been an interesting year for many teams in the FWL with SOOOO many close games.  They may be 5-8 but 6 of their 8 losses have been by 6 points or less, 4 have been by 3 points or less.

Wuerffel has had an amazing career, still a chance he will return.  Only a few QB's have returned for a 15th season, the questions is if Wuerffel wants to retire after an amazing season stat wise but not record wise or wants to come back to have one more chance at the playoffs ?

Its up to the computer at the end of the day.  I never like interfering with retirements as theres been lots of ex-players who have retired early (Take my WR Dedric Smith after leading the league) plus when it comes to records again its up to the computer.

In an ideal world i would like to go back to Season 1 and have a rule that if a veteran is still playing well then they dont retire.  It would help people keep veterans starting and make it a bit more realistic.

Its a shame when a veteran suddenly is a backup for his final season and hardly plays which is a shame, but its great when a veteran does a 'Joe Montana' and has a great final season before retiring.  Stoney Case was brilliant in his final year leading his team to the FWL Bowl before retiring.  I think HB Bobby Phillips should have retired one year earlier but i think he broke the record in his final year didnt he where he was a backup ?

Superb first pick by David though as the new GM of Montreal all the way back then.  Seems like ages ago now !  Hope Wuerffel doesnt retire though

Perhaps now is a good time to introduce the first page on the "upgraded" statistics site. I'm attempting to use the CodeIgniter framework to update all my pages so that they load quicker and can have groovy Ajax effects added. Of course, progress has been slow, but I've put together a new player summary page, and here is Danny Wuerffel's
