Today the Amsterdam Admirals announced that Niki van den Berg resigned as GM. Niki gave a brief statement after the news was announced:

"well I have been a GM for almost 12 seasons, it is time to go I only had to find a reason to resign. I think three losses in row is a good reason to do that! I am used to win, I hate to lose and after to bowl season of which the last was a 17-0 season it is just time to go! I wish the new GM all the best luck in the world and hope he is able to win as much as I did.

I hope the last reply by Paris was just a joke.  It is very unprofessional and even though I do not know the GM of Amsterdam, I wish him well.  He did a fabulous job with that team.

Paris I am unimpressed.  I hope it was a joke.  Commissioner take note.

Paris, please tell us that post was a joke!  Even if it is, its not funny!  What a clown!  great job doing NOTHING all year and posting a bunch of crap about someone else.  Takes a big man to hide behind a keyboard.  Of course you probably live in your mothers basement anyway.

Paul, I second the movement by Birmingham to have Paris GM removed immediately!

hahaha you think you are someone  Huh My 14th months old son has more class and style then you. But my text of the resignation was just some text which is not based on the real reason. The last 2 1/2 seasons I have no time at all for the FWL. It became less and less with the week and the last couple of week (since the starts of this season) I only had time to make some quick injury roster changes (less then 3 minutes work for me),

Calling me incompetent, it is your 1st season or so? what is your record? 4-7? and you call yourself a winner and competent?

If you had have a 122-62 record and won 2 FWL bowls and played like 8 years in a row play-offs (2 wildcard losses, 2 EFC championship losses, 2 FWL Bowl losses and 2 FWL bowl wins)

Sorry to hear you are leaving Niki - you have always been one of the main players in the FWL over the years and have contributed a lot to the league.

Even though I'm no longer part of the league, I still keep one eye on what happens. I hope you can as well.

Thanks,

Andrew

Well i'm gutted Niki is leaving, i'll send out an email for a new GM very soon but if not i hope Niki can just steer the ship till the end of the season.

The comment from Paris was meant to be just 'smack talk' (He posts like this a lot on Davids league forum !) but granted using just words (And no smileys !) looks bad but i know nothing bad was intended.

Gutted Niki is leaving, done an amazing job with Amsterdam, the 17-0 season was incredible and taking Amsterdam from constant losing seasons to something special and FWL Bowl's is stunning.

Sorry to see you go, Niki. Talk about a powerhouse... the perfect season, the back-to-back titles and threepeat EFC crown... stuff some of the FWL lifers haven't even come close to sniffing.

Well Ross Mather will be taking over the Admirals, he takes over now (i will announce it on the site, been away a few days).

I'll start looking for a new GM for Barcelona, Ross is doing both jobs for now which is kind of him.

weel must admit that being a GM of Barcelona sounds like a challange to me, but besides that I still have to find some time for that

Getting someone to take over Barcelona might be a tough sell. Can't blame Ross for wanting to leave the team behind, but with seven of the team's last eight seasons having at least 10 losses, a potential player might balk.

Maybe Mario is ready for a new challenge. Smiley

Well Niki has emailed me and wants the job, must admit i would prefer we did all this after the regular season BUT its a good time for Niki to see how he does in the final two weeks and the same for Ross in Amsterdam.

I'll update the site later (have a very busy day today) but Niki is the new GM of Barcelona, Ross the new GM of Amsterdam.

I presume Niki got a bit bored with winning !  Can see his point, i find it challenging trying to win the FWL Bowl and make a good team, also challenging when you have a weak team and need to get them winning.  Ross obviously is a real life Admirals fan from the NFLE days so he wants to take them over
