It seemed like 4 time All-FWL London DE Mark Word was tied with Skylar Cushman forever but finally with a sack late in the game against the Barcelona Dragons, Mark Word became the all time leader in sacks when he sacked Dameyune Craig to help preserve a London win late in the 4Q.  The sack was Words 126th ( http://www.fwl.org.uk/career.htm#T9 ) and the veteran who has had a great career ( http://www.fwl.org.uk/alltime.htm#mword ) could finally celebrate

Word who has never had less than 8 sacks in a year is still playing well in his 9th season in London.  He has 8 sacks on the season and is hoping for a strong finish to perhaps get double digit sacks yet again.  Word has started at DE1 for most of his career and has had a few starts at DT1 but the veteran loves playing football and wants to play several more years.

Word was a 1st round pick by Sacramento and instantly was a hit and was a major reason why the Surge won FWL Bowl X.  He was part of a great defense and when former Surge GM Paul Johns moved to London he had to take Word with him.

Don't forget he got six sacks in one game in his rookie season - surely a sign that he was destined to be an All-Pro!

Actually his second season but yes he showed some great signs early on in his career.  Quite gutted that in Season 7 he didnt have any sacks in the final game of the season, had at least one sack in 13 straight games until Week 14 !

Slowed down slightly but was injured in Season 15, had a quiet start this season with 0 sacks in 3 games but has played much better.  He'll be my starting DE for quite some time !

Great draft for me that year ( http://www.fwl.org.uk/drafteos6.htm )

DE Word in the first round, then S Earl Riley in the second (went onto have many great years) , even Michael Bishop in the 4th round but i got rid of him as i had Bouman.  Riley and Word helped my team become the champs in Season 10 a helluva lot
