FWL Preview - Week 11

Birmingham at Orlando
With a great win over the Riders the Fire have a chance to really get back into the playoff race with a win here. A win would put them at .500 for the first time this season. Orlando are 0-10 and this is the game they stand the best chance of winning to avoid going 0-14. Orlando normally play much better at home, last week against Ohio away they were terrible. Birmingham had a great game from QB Seth Burford and are favourites here but Orlando could get the upset.
Birmingham by 7
Ohio at Montreal
Tough loss for Montreal last week but now they are at home where they are 5-0 this year. This could decide the #1 seed in the AFC, if Ohio win here they are tied with Montreal and have the #1 seed thanks to the tiebreaker. Montreal had Corey Walker back last week but the brittle RB was injured again but should start anyway. Ohio had a good showing from QB Mike Pawlawski who was back to being the starter, tough game for both teams but Montreal have homefield advantage.
Montreal by 3
New York at Raleigh-Durham
Must win game for Raleigh-Durham, if they get a win here theyre straight back into the playoff race and move ahead of New York because of the tiebreaker. Raleigh played poorly last week against the tough defense of Mexico and need to rebound here, Raleigh are 3-1 at home and New York 1-4 on the road, Raleigh to get the win but the Knights have played well lately.
Raleigh by 3
San Antonio at Sacramento
Riders QB Michael Bishop had a great game last week, his 45 yard sprint for a touchdown is one of the best plays ever in the FWL. However they lost in overtime and now travel to Sacramento who have won 5 of their last 6 games. The Surge are 4-2 at home, the Riders 1-4 on the road so Sacramento get the advantage. If the Surge win here theyre right in the playoff race with 3 weeks remaining. If Sacramento could beat 9-0 Amsterdam away they should play even better at home here.
Sacramento by 3
Frankfurt at Mexico
Frankfurt are fading badly and might even lose out on the last playoff spot in the EFC as theyre battling Scotland and now surprisingly Berlin. Mexico had a great win at home against Raleigh and now could stop the Galaxys playoff chances with a win. Mexico have a great defense, are 5-0 at home and Frankfurt who need to bounce back will find it tough here.
Mexico by 7
Scotland at Rhein
Rhein at times have played well, at home where they are 2-2 they play some good football but on the road they are dire, luckily for them this game is at home. Scotland were surprisingly poor against London but the Monarchs are the best team currently in the league. Scotland have won twice on the road already and badly need a win here to bounce back. Theyre in control of the last playoff spot but need to keep winning. Rhein at home could cause some problems though.
Scotland by 7
Berlin at Barcelona
Barcelona have a very faint chance of a playoff spot, a win here could put them just one game behind the final wildcard if Scotland loses. Barcelona would tie Berlin at 4-7 and move ahead of them with the tiebreaker if they win here. Berlin are poor on the road but overall this year have played some very good football, Barcelona had a nice win against Paris and could get two wins in a row if they defeat Berlin.
Barcelona by 7
Amsterdam at Paris
Surely Amsterdam will bounce back and defeat Paris easily ? Paris are 0-10, Amsterdam 9-1 and coming off their first loss of the year. It could easily have been a win, two 4th down conversions, 11 points in the final few minutes, Amsterdam should have put Sacramento away earlier. They should get a good win here, Paris play better at home but surely wont win this one.
Amsterdam by 10
London at Austria
Austria could be the team to dent Londons unbeaten hopes. London are 10-0 and the top team in the league and now one game ahead of Amsterdam for the all important number 1 seed. Austria are 7-3 and had a nice win over Frankfurt last week, they probably wont win the EFC West but they still have a chance. They need a good win here to have a chance, if they win theyre virtually guaranteed a playoff spot. They are 4-0 at home, London 4-0 on the road, something has to give.

Well i was going to put you winning it as having homefield is a huge advantage, but then again London have done very well on the road this year against some good teams and when a teams 10-0 i think you have to give the vote to them.
Should be a classic though, both teams dont have any major injuries. HB Joe Hall wil start, i heard that if a players P-1 when he starts the next game he'll then be OK. Eg if hes P-2 he'll be P-1 when the next game starts. I know you would probably have them in hospital for a 2 week stay to be on the safeside

Well i'm starting HB Hall who is P-1. I think when the game stars theyre then OK.
Its a huge EFC West clash and you dont want to start your top safety ?!

Well I used to always play my P-1's but this week my FB and C were both P-1's and i don't think it was a coincidence that my HB played rubbish this week were he had two 100 yard games previous. I think from now on I will just rest them to be sure

There is a difference between P-1 'shaken up'
annd P-1 'may return later in the game'
The first one is realy a minor injury and if it happens at the end of the game he is listed in the injury list
but it will not affect him in the game.
The second is an injury and he has reduced attributes at least for a certain amount of time, and that can be
up to the length of a game (therefore P-1)
Players that were injured more seriously before (P-2 and more) and then return to P-1 thru healing are allways of the second case.
They might be 100% early in the game, but there is a good chance they are not.

So when a players injured say in the middle of a Week 10 game and is P-1 that basically means the rest of that game ?
The roster will then say P-1 after the game but essentially hes OK the minute the Week 11 games start ?

ok, from the game-report i can see that Mayer was just "shaken up" in Week9, sat out in week 10 and should be ready to play after a couple of plays in week 11...
he will start.
Paul:
This is my official roster-mail to you: Put S Mayer as S1.
No other changes.
Austria is ready to play....

Okay i've done that change but please email me any changes as 'sometimes' i wont be checking the forum, i do most of the times but i dont want any problems !
With S Mayer moving to S1 that means someone will be inactive under your current DB's so please email me what you want to do, eg make another player O instead of I
Email me instead of putting it here so we keep with the practice of changes on email to avoid any disaster like last time !

Hope you dont bench everyone though, leading WR Matthew Hatchette could be on for a 90+ catch season, hes having a great year. Hes done brilliant for you since coming over from Amsterdam...
http://www.fwl.org.uk/alltime.htm#mhatchette
6th straight 1000 yard season, has a great chemistry with Anes also.
