A 5th round draft pick by Amsterdam, Hamilton never threw a pass in his first 4 years in the FWL.  During those 4 years he was traded several times, Amsterdam- Birmingham, Birmingham- Barcelona, Barcelona - back to Amsterdam !

Hamilton proves that you dont always have to be a high 1st round pick hyped up to do well in the FWL...

With QB Heath Rylance struggling in 2009 Hamilton saw his first ever action and did very well.  He took over last year but the Admirals lost in the playoffs.  This year with Rylance now retired the team was Hamiltons and despite a trade for promising young QB BJ Symons,  Hamilton had an amazing year being named EFC Offensive Player of the Year, All-FWL and leading the league in QB rating and percentage.

Sometimes it shows that with some patience and training camps a player can improve to become one of the best.

He was drafted in my first draft ever. 5th round was a very good round for me:

WR Dane Looker, Amsterdam
FB Jeronimo Huerta, Amsterdam
QB Joe Hamilton, Amsterdam

Looker was traded (after 1 season) to San Antonio for QB Rylance

But must admit BJ Symons is knocking on the door

Wow brilliant round that was !

Thats what i love about the league , like in the NFL you come across some tough decisions !

Say Joe Hamilton won the first ever FWL Bowl in Amsterdam, he was EFC Off player of the year, top QB this season , surely he wouldnt be benched next year ?  I mean Trent Dilfer left the SB Ravens at the time but i always thought he was the weak link on that great Ravens team, Grbac came in and appeared to be the best choice but that backfired

Surely if you won it all Hamilton wouldnt get benched ?

Its a tough one though.  In Sacramento i had Todd Bouman for years as he won me an FWL Bowl so after that i was very loyal but perhaps too loyal.  His last few years were okay stat wise but his W/L record wasnt great.  Gonna be interesting to watch !
