Blockbuster trade takes place

HB Jarrett Payton (London) for HB Jamal Robertson and a 2nd round draft pick (Ohio)
Ohio badly wanted Payton and offer Robertson in return plus a 2nd round draft choice which the Monarchs will try to use wisely. London didnt want to trade Payton but Robertson gives them an instant established starter and the draft pick will come in handy. Ohio GM Mather a big fan of Payton looks to start him immediately

Its not everyday that a talent like Jarrett Payton comes along, and we felt the time was right to grab him. The Glory organisation would like to thank Jamal Roberston for his service over the last few years, and acknowledge that his *nearly* 1000 - 1000 season was a major factor is the Glory making it to the FWL Bowl Game last season.
It was rumoured that other teams were also seeking to secure Payton's services, although these remain unconfirmed.
GM Mather making the announcement in a hastily convened press conference, we know it will seem like we've paid a high price to get Jarrett, but our view is that he may be the one piece of the puzzle to take this team over the hump from Pretender to Contender. We'll let Jarrett get settled down this week behind Brian Shay who has been magnificent so far, and then look to harness him up ready for Scotland.
Jamal has done well since coming ver from Austria, and took his benching for Brian Shay like the Pro he is. We hope he will prosper in the new look London setup where he will undoubtable form a big part of the offense.

which admirals fan does not like to have such a FWL Payton in his team
but with this I confirm I was in the running to get Payton, but I was not willing to pay the price as you did, but he is a great young RB with a great name as well

I know you were interested Niki but i thought Ohios offer was too good to pass up. I'm a bit concerned by Robertsons age but then again i think he can contribute straight away and is the FWL's equivalent of Marshall Faulk, plus the high draft choice swung it for me.
I think London now dont have to rebuild that much, the Surge players obviously helped but i still have to upgrade the Monarchs secondary and get the OL sorted out.

Well. I know it'll be a real pain for me to sit here and second-guess every Monarchs move, but... trading Payton? He's the ultimate example of the Kreiner Rule ("Any player which Mario is dying to get from you, you don't want to trade.")

rule: when mario wants a player, decline all offers from him till you have an offer you can not refuse
Okay I only do that with players I at teh first place do not want to lose, but that is compensation for loss of quality

Believe me i didnt want to trade him at all, then again i think he was one of the few valuable Monarch players. Bit like the Cowboys trading Herschel Walker.
The offer from Ohio was too good to pass up, i didnt want to trade Payton but Robertsons an excellent HB and i get a round 2 pick as well.

regarding Jasons "Kreiner-rule":
if you can show me any player out there that would boost my team and which is NOT a superstar-player (that is that i would have to pay a reasonable price) feel free to contact me.
I only see superstars that could help my team. and the last time i tried to go for one i offered a superstar plus a first rounder for a superstar but the GM refused to trade.
Maybe that is also why i reduce trading nowadays. at the level of my team (and given the fact that i have the youngest team in the FWL overall) i do not see the need to trade as i would have to give more than i would get.
it is simple as that....

It was not a trade as i withdrew my proposal immediately. It was just too ridiculous to talk on.
