Monarch veterans keep on chugging along

Mark Word in his 10th season got off to a good start with a sack in Week 1 and 3 tackles. Words sack gives him 130 for his career, he was the leading sacker in the league of all time but this sack makes him the only player with 130 or more sacks in the league.

Another veteran Kinnon Tatum who at one stage was rumoured to be benched had a good showing in Week 1 with 5 tackles and a sack. His 5 tackles take him to 963 all time (league leader) and the sack gives him a 13th consecutive year of at least one sack. Tatum has averaged an amazing 79 tackles over the last 12 years and should have a good season again this year
