Divisional re-alignment
«

What are everyones thoughts on this....
The idea was....
1) Austria was going to move back to the EFC East to play their foes London twice a season as this was one of the first and best rivalries.
Yes Austria arent a western country they are an Eastern one but at the end of the day i would rather the GM's be happy and traditional rivalries continue rather than follow NFL Europe as NFLE could be gone in a year or two
2) Andrew wasnt entirely happy with Paris becoming Cologne so Cologne will disappear and Paris will be back to their former name. However Paris should also be in the EFC West
3) The idea was that Amsterdam move to the EFC East where that division will now be a 4 team division. However as you can imagine the EFC East is much tougher (at the moment) than the EFC West and as they recently won the West it might seem a bit strange in moving Amsterdam out
What are everyones ideas ?

Austria has to go to West
Cologne has to be re-named to Paris
Amsterdam west or East, maybe it is better to keep Amsterdam one year in west and then move it to east on the otherhand I do not mind going to my germen friends division last year I was 5-0 against them so Ich habe keine Angst to move that way ......
Maybe when can ask Andrew what he prefers

Given a choice, I'd like to have my team back in Paris. I don't really mind which division they are in. Perhaps we could go the whole hog and have two new divisions;
EFC Cold = London, Austria, Paris, Scotland, Berlin
EFC Hot = Frankfurt, Rhein, Barcelona, Amsterdam

What are everyones ideas ?
Giving rivalries and FWL-history a chance i would suggest the following rivalries to consider divisionwise:
<) RHE-FRA-BER (FWL Germany)
>) AUS-LON
<) LON-SCO
<) Put the "real" FWL-teams together: FRA/RHE/BER/COL(=PAR)/AMS
<) giving the time-zones, LON and SCO are the only ones to be considered "WEST"....
So taht COULD be
EFC West:
SCO
LON
BAR
AUS
EFC East:
FRA
RHE
BER
COL (=PAR)
AMS
i actually would not mind playing against anyone in the league really (as long it is not the AFC West, duh!). but my list tries to establish and maintain rivalries (see EFC West) as well as "real" NFLE-type-games (see EFC East). i basically do not care much about division-names but regarding history we should stick to "east " and "west". NFL has a similar dilemma and has no problem with it.....

Well still confused about what to do, either way EFC East and EFC West names will stay. For years in the NFL they had teams in other zones which shouldnt have been in the West or East named divisions etc
As for the movement of the teams i would prefer to take rivalries over current NFLE geographical zones etc
At the moment its either..
EFC West
Amsterdam
London
Austria
Scotland
Barcelona
EFC East
Paris
Frankfurt
Rhein
Berlin
or...
EFC West
Paris
London
Austria
Scotland
Barcelona
EFC East
Amsterdam
Frankfurt
Rhein
Berlin
Still weird to see Paris in the East and Austria in the West though.
However we could just say that the move to Cologne didnt work out and the old Paris name is back.
The first option looks to be good apart from Paris in the East looks weird. The second option i dont think its fair for Amsterdam to move after they've won their first ever title.
Still confused what to do !

Paul,
Just go for the last option, if don't mind and I am in season 12 5-0 against those German teams

paul, if you take your option 2 BUT in addition move one of the WEST teams to the EAST that would make a 4-team-WEST thus ensuring that the west teams should have two additional interdivision games against the strong EAST teams.
That would make it a bit more balanced.
eg:
WEST: LON, AUS, SCO, BAR
EAST: PAR, FRA, RHE, AMS, BER
as the west would only have a total of 6 divisional-games they would have to play 2 games against the EAST with the strong teams.
in your current option 2 the West would have 8 divisional-games and the West is rather poor at the moment so that would make it easy to have a good W/L-record in order to reach the wildcard-spot, even if the EAST teams are stronger.
was that too complicated or does everyone understand what i mean?
i am off for holidays.
see you!

Well if thats ok with you Niki i would much prefer this solution...
EFC West
Paris
London
Austria
Scotland
Barcelona
EFC East
Amsterdam
Frankfurt
Rhein
Berlin
Amsterdam actually started in the EFC East originally but was moved to the West when Ireland became Berlin.
Yes the division looks very hard at the moment but as you know in a few seasons time it could be the easiest, just look at the way some divisions are in the NFL, eg the NFC East.
If thats ok then we'll make the divisions these ones above. London/Austria are one of the best rivalries in the league and i think Amsterdam/Frankfurt could also be another great one after both you teams met in the EFC Championship game.

Hi,
I think this classic divisional allignement is okay.
As long as I can play my rivalries against Rhein and Berlin
Just too bad, that the program does allways create the same inter-conference games
that was for me the only real reason why I wanted to play in the 5-team divison.
bye and tschuess,
Marco

This looks right to me, but you've got the order flipped in the current alignment... we're all in the East.

1) hey, PLEASE rename the divison east => west, west=> east
2) ugly standings: west: all won, east: all lost...... shame on us....

Oops yeah i'll make that change
Well so much for Amsterdam moving to the East and making that division so much harder ! Theyre all 0-1 ! I know though early days
Good opening week, just had a look at the play by play of games and so many of them were very close. Orlando recovered a late fumble by NY and had a great chance to win that game. Amsterdam could have won at the end of the 4Q but had their FG blocked, then Austria get into FG range but Anes is sacked on a huge 3rd down to put them out of FG range
Even my Surge had a chance late in the game to possibly try to tie it up. Frankfurt also had a close close win.
