Week 2 Preview

Mexico at Ohio

Its only Week 2 but this promises to be a classic. Both teams were on fire offensively in Week 1 as Mexico destroyed the Surge and Ohio held off Orlando. Ohio has the edge as they are at home but this really could be a classic.

London at Birmingham

Poor game by the Monarchs last week despite the win. For the Fire they are superb at home and as London seem to be slow offensively to start most seasons the Fire should hold on for a win.

Raleigh-Durham at San Antonio

The Riders seemed to be in charge last week until Captain Comeback (Danny Wuerffel) threw two 4Q touchdowns to get the win. Raleighs new look defense was superb last week but it was againt the Dragons and they face a tough game away at the Riders.

Orlando at Sacramento

Tough loss last week for the Surge but they were away at Mexico who were the top AFC team last year. They need to get back to basics, run the ball and make plays defensively, could be tough against QB Kliff Kingsbury who is poised for a breakout year. The Surge have to do something about their run defense which allowed 300+ yards against Mexico in Week 1 !

Paris at Amsterdam

Amsterdam were undefeated last year as they went 17-0 (only time in league history) but now face Paris who could be a surprise team this year under their new GM. Paris were sensational last year coming back to upset Frankfurt. Could be closer than expected.

Berlin at Frankfurt

The Thunder were very poor last year and looked average in a loss against London this week. Frankfurt were stunned by the Muskteers and need to bounce back and forget last week and get a home win.

Montreal at Rhein

Former Montreal QB Dave Ragone faces his former team and he would love to get a win against his old coach. Montreal played well last week, Rhein were unlucky against Scotland but have a talented team, could be very close.

Barcelona at Austria

The Dragons are much better than last year but it may take a few weeks before QB Kurt Kittner gets used to the offense. Austria played well against Amsterdam but need to get back to running the ball better.

New York at Scotland

Two good teams should have a lot of points in this late game, Scotland held off Rhein last week and now face a talented NY side who are good offensively and defensively.
