Should be a classic !!!

The teams who have appeared in the most FWL Bowls in the AFC and EFC finally meet !

Frankfurt have homefield advantage but Montreal have won many tough games on the road the last few seasons and in the playoffs.

Frankfurt are favourites but Montreal are the best team in the FWL the last 5 seasons so what will give ?!?

Montreal will be without DT Michael Landry and HB Corey Walker (who would have faced his old team) so presumably veteran HB Lawrence Phillips who is brilliiant at coming off the bench will be the starter.

Frankfurt have no injury worries but will need a better game from their offensive line.  Montreal were #1 against the run, Frankfurt #1 running the ball so what will happen !!!

I'm going for Frankfurt, just because of their outstanding offence. It seems that having a high-octane running attack is the key to victory in the FWL, and Joe Aska certainly fits that bill. Montreal's O is pretty damn good, however, but their injuries could hurt them. Should be a great game! I'll go for 27-24 Frankfurt.

Paul spoiled it all by mailing the wrong link: it did not lead to the play-play but to the game-review so all the fun of "watching the FWL-Bowl live" was gone...

A big "boooooo" for Paul here....  Lips Sealed

In real life, I would have won.

The computer cannot simulate everything.  Defense like ours wins.  Think of all the Super Bowls, and what matchup between big offense and big defense, and who ended up winning.  Game does not compute that, which is why this 'classic matchup' is more of a shame than anything else.

Also, advantage to FRA for...
1) Being at Home
2) Montreal losing starting HB, DE for game, and then S in Overtime

In parting, I do want to say congrats to FRA however.

Come on David injuries are a part of life you have them or not as well as Frankfurt playing at home! If I am correct you won twice the fwl bowl while you played away (scotland and Amsterdam) so that is not really a big issue for your team. Injuries can be but that is a part of luck I have seen many teams that have a very good team but lose games in the regular season due to injuries. That is what the game is! Make sure your back ups are as close as possible to your starters and the hurt of injuries is less or not all! I lost my starting HB for 10 weeks in week 1 but it was not such a big issue for me for two reasons: 1) my back ups are from the same shit quality and 2) it is aprt of the game

First of all David, I congratulate you to such a fine team. If we meet again after the next season
maybe you will then win ;-)

But I agree that it was a close game and the loss of your DE was hurting you.
How else could have Aska run so many yards against such a great defense.

Home field is important iin the playoffs, however I think I earned it by having the
best overall record in the league.

Your team is a fine and young team, you will have many more Bowls :-)

1) FRA was considered favourite to the ones who voted, see poll
2) Even in "real live" it is not always the favourite who wins the game
3) Even in real live injuries play a role when it comes to win championship - Montreal has had bad luck regarding this

Two fine teams met and to me the better one won. but i admit without those injuries i think Montreal would have won the Bowl....

Congrats to FRA and its "most winning GM", Marco *clapclapclap*

Well its one of those 'what might have been' type of things.  I was surprised at the low scoring, and yeah if Landry was active then Aska might not have got so many yards.  Davey was a bit quiet but Aska had a great game.

Either way 4 AFC Championships in 5 years and 3 FWL Bowl wins is incredible.  Montreal are very good on the road though, 2 of their 3 FWL Bowl wins have been as the 'away' team and this year they were close as anything.

'If' Cortez hit that late FG that would have been interesting to see the final 2 minutes then.  I was surprised how many sacks both teams had also
