Well some big names retired this week....

DT Franklin (Amsterdam) - Last years 1st round pick.  had 12 tackles and 4 sacks as a rookie, tore up his knee in mini camp though and had to retire from the FWL, big loss for the Admirals.

WR Uwaezuoke (Orlando) - Had another great year last year but decided to retire at the top, finishes 3rd all time in receiving with 683 catches for over 9,500 yards.

CB/S Short (Surge) - Leading tackler of all time, wanted to get to 1000 tackles but after last seasons terrible year for the Surge he wasnt 100% certain to get a starting spot so retired instead.  Finished 2nd all time in interceptions.

WR Tucker (Fire) - Relegated to 3rd string last year but still had over 700 yards receiving and was part of one of the best WR trios in the league.  Had 4 straight 1000 yard seasons earlier in his Fire career.

LB Fields (Machine) - One of the best LB's ever in the league, 10 straight years of sacks, 56 career sacks, just one short of the LB record set by Willie Walker.  Played in 5 FWL Bowls and won 4 FWL Bowl rings.  10 straight years of the playoffs

P Angco (Admirals) - Over 43,000 yards punting, most yardage in punting history !

DE Richter (Fire) - Had 101 sacks in his FWL career, great player.

S Malveaux (Claymores) - Finished 20th all time in tackles with over 600

WR Sellers (Claymores) - Leading Claymores WR of all time, finished 13th all time with 597 catches, had over 50 catches 8 times.

HB Welch (Claymores) - Spent most of his career with Montreal, greatest game was FWL Bowl XI in which he had to start for Montreal, had over 100 yards and was named FWL Bowl MVP.  Won 3 FWL Bowl rings with Montreal, not bad for a career backup

your oliner is retired because he was very unhappy with the new contract you offered him, he is now getting drunk in amsterdam. Last news about him is that he is seen on a regular basis in the red light district  Roll Eyes

Your HB had to retired in a NFL mini camp he started to fight with my 1 year Dliner Franklin, the result was a carreer ending injury for my 1st round pick of last year, as result Allen was not welcome anymore in the FWL  Tongue

Sorry about the loss Mario, could have been much worse !

I had Dedric Smith who was the leading WR the previous year, he then retired causing a huge hole in my WR corps a few seasons back.  I think its a good idea to have a fair few vets on your side as then they'll retire and hopefully not the younger ones. Then again NY Knights have hardly had any retirements the last 2 seasons and they have a very young side
