I think it was an very impressive start for the FWL.

LON defeating FRA is the biggest shocker for years and will really please the starving Monarchs-fans a lot. Marco, where your changes too much for your team??? Jason: Is it you and me who will battle for the divisional crown? i would love (but doubt) that!?!?

The way AUS destroyed playoff-contender BER defensively was breathtaking, my DBs where fantastic.

Ohio seems stronger than i hoped (i got their 1st rounder) and had an unlucky loss, MON and SAN will battle it all to the AFC-championship-game and i think MON has a good chance to win the FWL-Bowl. I would even risk some money on that.....

Will Orlando surprise us all in the AFC? They look impressive!

Paul starts off with a win to keep my division-rival in their starting blocks. It will be interesting to see if Rhein will return back to old form....

Should be a good season. Especially for my ADK-team and its hungry fans......

Good opener of games , a few surprises.

Still early days yet though, a fair few teams often start slow and others at 1-0 then fall to 4-10 etc, by about Week 4 etc we should get a clearer picture.

Eg London, are they for real or just a great one off ?  The problem in FBPro 97 is that if you get a quick lead or any lead the computer often abandons the run when your 14-0 down.  With London leading Frankfurt early on (i clicked on highlights to see the Lytle scramble but it just crashes, sometimes does that sadly - eg not save the highlights properly) at 14-0 the Galaxy abandoned their rushing attack as Aska had a quiet day.

Then again London really did play well, surprised how well their WR1 played considering how slow he is.

Ohio are a much better team than they showed and should do much better, if Scotland can find a HB they should bounce back.  For me moving Travis Anglin to WR1 was a disaster, Anglin has great stats but is more suited to a WR3 role.  HB BJ Askew had a quiet game but it was his first game and was playing away.

I always said that LON is not a bad team at all, remember all those close losses? Nevertheless: THIS win was a one-timer....

Regarding Ohio. Boy, oh Boy a totally miscuing on my side. I had little time, took their record of the past years and was thrilled to get a "TOP"-1st rounder. But now i realize they have the potential to even win the division which would be a disaster for my aquired pick. oh dear. Week 2 OHIO @ AUS will be a very crucial game for GM Kreiner. If we cannot beat OH, they might be a top-team with their pick not even near that much worth than GM Kreiner thought...... Very, very important game.....

Ohio are a good team but they faced a top AFC team in Week 1 (NY) and now another playoff team in Week 2 away (Austria) then face the AFC top team in Montreal away in Week 3.

They could be one of the best 0-3 teams ever !  Seriously they could be 0-3 but still have a good team believe it or not.  Ohio started slow last year before looking very good later in the season.

ADK are a "playoff-Team"?

Errrrr..... Hmmmm........

Yep. I agree. And this time NOT just because we are in the EFC West, no matter what some people might think. Remember: LON beat FRA and AUS beat BER! Not bad indeed for our underdog-division.... :-)

Mario, I would be surprised if you would not win the division with a winning record. and yes  your division is getting better but in general I think the EFC west division will have only 1 play off team.

I am impressed by your team I expected you to beat Berlin, your team is getting better every year and Berlin is getting older and older but I never expect that you beat them this big.

I'm talking about last year, Ohio face 3 straight playoff teams from last year on their schedule so if this was the NFL people would be saying Ohio have the toughest start of any team.  Last year their 3 first opponents were 3 divisional winners out of the 6, New York were a top AFC team, then they play Austria away and Montreal away who were 11-3 at home last year so it could be a 0-3 start for Ohio

AND THEY SAID HE WOULD RESIGN.

Diss my team all you like, but any win over a German-language team is always huge for a successful Monarchs season.

Hey, the "not -yet- resigned" GM speaking?

Seriously Jason, i really congratulate you from the bottom of my heart....... With Paris disappointing and Scottland and Barcelona no obvious contenders the "FWL-Classic" could even become more important this season...... Really looking forward to that....
