HB Mike Reed (Amsterdam) for a 6th round draft pick (Sacramento)

The Surge trade for former 1000 yard HB Reed who has been a backup the last two seasons.  Reed might get the nod as the new starter in Sacramento but the Surge still have a few options.

Said GM Johns "We had a few possibilities on the table but we had to go with the more cheaper option as HB BJ Askew is our long term starter so whoever starts this year it will only be for this season.  Mike Reed totally understood and was quite happy for this deal to go ahead rather than be a backup with Amsterdam."

Reed was a 4th round pick originally ( http://www.fwl.org.uk/alltime.htm#mreed ) by San Antonio and moved to Montreal a year later.

After several seasons as a backup Reed moved to Amsterdam which was one of Admirals GM Niki van den Bergs best trades.  Reed started that year and became Amstedams first ever 1000 yard rusher and helped the Admirals reach the playoffs for the first time ever.

Reed rushed for 1058 yards and 11 touchdowns and caught 60 passes, despite that huge year he was a backup the next year but still rushed for nearly 500 yards.

He will be the starter for Sacramento this week but GM Johns did mention that some of the young stars on the Surge roster will see some action later in the season but if Reed does well he will get the majority of carries this year.

Reed?
No problem.

A good choice regarding what is on the market but not much more.

Austria practised a lot to kick out your HB by jumping into the knees and all that illegal stuff. The goal is to kick Reed out in the firt quarter forcing you to bring your backup-backups on this position, thus forcing you to throw the ball, thus making it easy for me to go for some interceptions.

easy win.

Tackling the ball carrier at the knee's is legal at any time.

Fully correct. But it was a lack of proper expression on my side.

"Illegal" was the wrong word. We tried to "intentionally trying to make a player injured by cracking his knee at moments where the player does not think of it...."

It is not illegal, i know, but a breach of the football code of ethics (or is it ethNics?).

And hey, ADK does not care about ethics (ethNics?) anyway.......  Lips Sealed

The bad thing is: We failed to kick him out of the game. Poor performance of my "special mission players"......

Speaking of Sacramento trades, obviously trading Stevens won't hurt the kickoff game as Sacramento had a 45 yard return anyway...

nice trade, Jason.

Heh, well, I kept telling other GMs that all I had for WR2s was a 3rd round pick. Someone finally bit. Smiley

No, no, I would never make that sort of claim. I'm still bad at it.

I think you got a good deal in that trade but on my side LC Stevens was always going to be a #4 WR.  In the end i picked up former FA Surge WR James Kidd who isnt too bad to be WR4.

If players have history with my team i 99% of the time try to keep them.  Eg Blundin is the best Surge WR ever, Ricky Hall had a 1000 yard season for me recently and Anglin i'm sure has potential somewhere !

LC Stevens arrived in a good trade but didnt do much with me, pity as hes a good player but just like my LB's (Brown and Tatum will be LB1 / 2 till they retire) , Stevens was never going to move up the pecking order with the Surge.

Jason had a good trade though as i think he badly needed a burner at WR, but somehow despite his slow speed Latif Brim still makes some great catches.  Bit like Jerry Rice who they said was too slow when he first came out of college
