For our 21st century GMs, the gaudy numbers on the GM stat leaderboard suggest some sort of mythic figure. He won nearly 80 percent of his regular season games and made two of the first four FWL Bowls.

I did some rough calculations with (as of the most recent GM stats) and Marco would have to win something along the lines of 70 straight games in order to bump his average up to Bender's level. So it seems unlikely that an established successful GM will ever achieve the same levels Bender did.

The question is--will some hotshot ever come in and best that record? And failing that, can we find Bender and lure him back to take over some crummy team so that there's hope for someone to eclipse him in the future? Smiley

We could load up a team with megastars via questionable trades, then turn it over to you under an assumed name.

Then, a few years from now, we could make a "Searching for Reggie Bifflestender" post.

Then again, given that your luck seems to mirror mine, the post would end up being something like:

"What ever happened to that Reggie Bifflestender guy?  He went 13-1 for three straight seasons, then disappeared."

"Oh yeah, I remember that guy.  13-1 in the regular season for three straight years, but 0-1 every year in the playoffs. Weird!"

I do have some of my old email in the late 90's stored somewhere, be interesting to see what happened to him.

Be quite cool if an old GM from yesteryear came back to the FWL

Andreas won the league his first year back, right? That's a pretty compelling sales pitch.

Christian Bender was a close friend of Miguel, so if you cannot reach him, you may try with the help of Miguel.
