This surely feels good.......

I just wanted to say that i am really happy after all what has been going on in the last 4 FWL-seasons.
A lot has been said and done from the point i came back, from the trade for Anes to the trade of Simonton, all those discussions in the forum and off-records (by email)... all this controversy with me in the middle etc etc etc....
It took me something like 2 years to go from bottom to top. And i really made huge efforts by spending time and passion into this FWL-thing (eg. i made
49 trades including way over 200 players coming to or going away from Austria(!!!))
to get where i got today.
My team made it back to the top and i am very proud to be part of this great community, thank you all for participating.
FWL-CHAMPION SEASON #15
oooopss:
i just found out that Paul names me GM otY as i did not read his report until now.
Thanks for that, i am very proud of that.

Was it really 49 trades ? Damn !!!
Well it was difficult GM of the Year, i had Niki as the GM of the Year for most of the season then because of the playoffs i think you just edged it due to beating some of the strongest teams in the EFC. I'm sure Niki wont mind too much as he won this award just a few seasons back.
Its been an enjoyable year, cant believe we're now about to be in our 16th Season ! I think now all players in the league have been draftees

Congratulations Mario !
So now I think you are looking for new challenges, what about selling again all these good players
so you can start anew from zero. That would make you the real mastermind
Just joking, I fear we have seen the start of a new dynasty at least for the EFC
Paul, I think this season allready we had only draftees
The oldest player in the league is Pat Barnes with 13 seasons and he was drafted in the very first FWL draft.

Yep i do enjoy it now that all the players can have long careers in the FWL as in season 1 we had a lot of players with 3+ seasons but who obviously were missing 2 years of playing in the FWL despite being a 3rd year player etc

Yes i think Michel did a great job from going from 4-10 to 8-6 and an AFC Championship. Had a ton of injuries, has a great rushing attack featuring two great players in his system and also has a good young QB and youth at most key positions.
The secondary is very young and also features two rookie CB's and he went all the way to the AFC Game. The AFC East looks a very tough division (as most divisions do) as Ohio were in the FWL Bowl just a year ago, New York were 12-2 this year and 11-3 the year before, Birmingham was in the AFC Game this year and Orlando can still cause the odd upset.

I was a little surprised that the total points scored didn't exceed the Season 6 version of this game.

Hmmm.....
Regarding Austria it was defense all over the place ALL SEASON LONG, not an offensive fireworks. so i am not surprised at all regarding the rather low score......
BTW:
one reason for the turnaround of the season was the trade for HB Simonton: He had this extra-yard that you need in order to make the next step.......

Yes, both teams scored and surrendered reasonably close to their season average points. Maybe it's just that I'm hoping, after all these years, that we'll someday have a shootout FWL Bowl. Obviously teams with suspect defenses tend not to make it to the championship game at all, but it still seems odd that no team has surpassed 30 points in an FWL bowl.

I think my nomination is rather controversial. I would have expected to be elected last season due to Austrias dominance in regular season but not this season because both my team and myself did a "good job" but nothing "outstanding" (ok, besides winning the Bowl but i was speaking in terms of "GMotY"). I think
Mark
would have deserved the honour due to the massive efforts in trading he developed during this season. And yes, Birminghams rise should have been taken into account as well.......
But of course i accept the honour with pride........

Well, i was stopped 0,01 inches short of a TD on the very first drive and instead missed the FG (which is a bug in FBPros-SW as you usually miss those 17 or 18ydrs...) and i missed another FG. I could have come close to the 30 with a bit more luck.......
Reading the stats i think my offense did very well as regards yardage. we just did not score very much.

Yeah, in retrospect you really earned it perhaps in your first season back--but it was impossible to be sure that those moves you made were building a championship team, so as usually happens, awards lag the actual achievement.

Agree about Simonton, he had some quiet games but i think it helped Curt Anes much more. Eg defenses focus on Simonton and then it makes it easier for Anes, he had a much better second half of the season. Same with the Skyhawks and Aaron Rodgers, Curtis Alexander didnt have huge games for Raleigh but really helped that team win much more and Rodgers had some brilliant games as defenses couldnt focus on just one thing to stop
