I had originally put the latest rosters up on the site, then with the software i carried on, ignored the draft so i didnt do any picks (so that the college players were created) so i could then start changing the names / skillis of the rookies.

However despite running the league for years (i'm sure this doesnt happen every time) as the draft had been run it seemed to wipe out any old veterans sadly, the only FA's are rookies which the computer has created (which i will then change for our draft and they'll be used for that).  So basically we cant allocate any FA's and players such as TE Justin Swift, QB Corey Sauter and others have retired.

So sadly all veteran FA's have retired, my fault as i should have allocated them first then ran through the draft to create the colllege rookie list to amend.  I'm positive in past seasons veteran players have stayed, thats why we have a lot of vets staying on the FA list all season long.

Sadly the only backup files i have are files before the retirements and i cant run those again as the results will be totally different.

Very frustrating as like i say in the past veteran FA's have stayed with the league but this time they've all gone.

afaik there already where seasons where the old guys disappeared....
as this problem affects all teams we should not worry about it PLUS it would help do "automatically" downgrade the level of play as some of those guys where really good and they have to be replaced by low-performing rookies...

the only shame is that those guys carried a lot of history...

well Mario, it does affect teams differently
you had no retirements other teams had many, they could have become better by signing some veteran help.

However it does upgrade the lower draftpicks, as now more players are needed
and it may increase trading as i.e. I am searching for a FB and cannot hope anymore to get a cheap veteran
FA to fill that role.

I also remember that after most seasons the veteran FAs were gone, only the last couple of seasons
they did not. It is really no tragedy. Paul, just go on an make it a nice rookie list Wink

I agree also that its too bad for some of the veterans with a lot of history

Yeah i'm annoyed as i shouldnt have tried to move on ahead, eg inputting rookies.  Then again like you say it didnt happen the last few seasons so its very weird.

Oh well, like you say it makes lower round picks more valuable.  Just a shame some of those former great players have gone though. Oh well, next year i'll wait before moving onto the draftee list to input them just in case but its weird it changes from year to year as the FA's didnt retire the last few years.  Shame as i had my eyes on a few veteran QB's to be my new backup !
