London Monarchs GM

WWW
« on: April 02, 2007, 05:12:08 AM »

- Skyhawks DT Matt Sweeney returned to the starting lineup this week and had a great impact with 3 tackles, a sack and a fumble recovery

- Time might be running out for huge DE Eric Powell of the Monarchs.  In 3 games at DE2 he has no tackles, the Monarchs defense is ranked top 5 but Powell hasnt had much of an impact.  UPDATE - Veteran Danny Watts will start at DE2 in Week 4 with Powell relegated to DE3

- Whats happening in Rhein ?  The team sunk to a new low this week with just 6 first downs.  Miguel Cuadron is a brilliant GM for Rhein but he must be feeling sorry for himself with his current team who are terrible compared to past great Rhein sides.

- Frankfurt QB Rohan Davey might miss his first ever regular season start, luckily the injury isnt serious but it does appear that backup Kevin Thompson might get his first start for many years.

- They still rank 7th in the league in sacks but 1 sack from Greg White in 3 games and 1 sack from Buck Rasmussan is very poor.  The Austria d-line simply has to play better.

- Could this be the year of Mexico ?  Theyve promised so much in recent years but have failed late on.  With a top ranked defense its helping the 16th ranked offense of Mexico but for how long ?  The Aztecs have to get their passing attack and offense clicking.

- With Mike Pawlawski out a few weeks it looks like Ohio will have to go with Kurt Kittner.  Kittner was impressive last year and nearly won the starting job and again has a chance to show what hes got with Pawlawski out a few weeks.

- With Barcelona slipping to a 1-2 record the clocks still ticking for when QB Travis Brown gets his first start.  QB Dameyune Craig hasnt been that bad this year but the fans want a change.

- Berlin QB Nate Hybl is having a great year after looking poor the first two years of his career.  Hybl hasnt had much help from his rushing attack but has still played very well.

- Another Orlando flop at QB - Kliff Kingsbury could be on the move.  Kingsbury who was drafted 2nd overall a few years back hasnt thrown a pass in the FWL and has said he may retire (like former Thunder 1st round pick QB Josh Heupel) if he isnt traded as he wants to see some action

- London seem to be holding off on a new RB for now.  The team was trying to finalise a great package for a RB out there (unamed) but after Joe Halls good game this week they may wait till after the season to see whether to get a new RB or not.

- DE Mark Word the leagues all time sack leader is having a great year with 4 sacks already in 3 games.  Word might be starting his final season but is looking so good he may come back next year.

- With 5 tackles this week Monarchs LB Kinnon Tatum now has 970 tackles for his career and needs just 30 to become the first player ever with over 1000 tackles.
