London Monarchs GM

London at Birmingham

London are on a roll but their 4-0 record is deceptive, 3 wins have been at home, 2 wins against winless teams.  They face a Fire team who are 2-0 at home but 0-2 on the road but with the homefield advantage Birmingham should put up a great fight.  The Monarchs are full of confidence and firing on all cylinders, their rushing game has been improved in recent weeks, veteran DE Mark Word is playing great football again and the defense is making a lot of plays and is now ranked the best in the league.  For the Fire their rushing attack hasnt been great this year but their passing game is the best.  Should be a great game.

Montreal at Orlando

Its no surprise Montreal are nervous about this game, until last week Orlando have played very well this season but have lost some close games but that all came crashing down last week in a nightmare loss at home to Barcelona.  Montreal need this win to keep pace in the tough AFC West, Orlando have nothing to lose.  They have made some good trades lately in making their offensive line better but they lack a decent RB and their defense is terrible at sacking the QB.  If Danny Wuerrfel gets a ton of time to throw the ball then Montreal should win easily.

New York at Ohio

HUGE AFC East game.  Both teams are 2-2 and Ohio get just their second home game of the season in this clash.  Ohio are far better than their 2-2 record suggests, they have a top 5 offense and top 5 defense but injuries have hurt.  New Yorks defense has surprisingly disappeared this season ranked just 16th, Ohio get the advantage as theyre at home but NY have played much better lately.

Frankfurt at Raleigh-Durham

Frankfurt welcome back their QB Rohan Davey back to full strength after he played last week despite an injury.  Raleigh have had a poor season and their offense and defense rank poorly, their offense at 17th this year is a major surprise.  They have traded for last years leading WR Marc Soumah but it may be a week or two till he can make a huge impact.  Curtis Alexander is struggling and needs to improve.  Frankfurt have played well in recent weeks and are looking good with a 3-1 record but face a tough trip away, the Galaxy are playing very well and made huge plays last week to win.

Frankfurt by 7

Mexico at Sacramento

Normally around this time after a great start the Aztecs start to fade and Sacramento are the opposite and start to win.  Sacramentos defense have played very well but their offensive line who cant stop sacks or open up holes for HB BJ Askew is very poor.  Mexico are playing very well this year all round and a rush defense which in 4 games have allowed just 169 yards could be on their way into the FWL record books.  A 4-0 team against a 0-4 team should easily give Mexico the win but there are always surprises in the AFC West.  Mexico have to stay focused and get their 5th win in a row.

Mexico by 7

Amsterdam at San Antonio

Should be a great clash as both teams are playing very well all round.  San Antonio are 3-1 and Amsterdam 4-0 but the Riders have the advantage at home.  Both teams have played very good football and have made some big plays in their combined 7-1 start this year, the Riders are in the tougher division this year and really need the win but Amsterdam are on a mission to go to the FWL Bowl.

Amsterdam by 3

Berlin at Rhein

Both teams played well last week despite losses in some tough games.  Berlin lost in a close game to Amsterdam and Rhein lost thanks to a huge 4th & 24 which they allowed late in the game.  Rhein looked better this week but have the worst offense in the league and next to last defense.  Berlin look much improved and should get a win here at Rhein who have sunk to their worst ever in their history.

Berlin by 7

Austria at Barcelona

Tough game on paper for Austria who travel to Barcelona who are unbeaten this year and who were great last week away in a win at Orlando.  Looking at the stats however the Dragons havent played well this year on offense or defense but just do enough to win, the DarkKnights have played very good football and veteran HB Ken Simonton is on a hot streak at the moment.  The Dragons have the worst passing defense in the league so expect DarkKnights star WR Matthew Hatchette to make a lot of plays.

Austria by 7

Scotland at Paris

Its sad to see but the reigning champion Claymores are having a nightmare season, they had two overtime losses but looked poor last week against London.  Changes at HB and on the offensive line havent helped and they need a lot of work.  The defense which is ranked one of the worst is the huge surprise.  Paris have played well lately but a huge injury to HB Robert Edwards will hurt them badly as they have no decent replacement unless they trade for someone.  Paris could get the win as theyre at home but if Scotland want to save their season they have to win this one.
