Week 8 Preview

Ohio at Birmingham
Huge game for both teams, Birmingham could get right back into the AFC East race with a win here. The Fire played a great game last week and findlaly got the rushing game going but it was against 0-6 Orlando. Ohio lost a heartbreaker to Montreal which would have put them in first position in the AFC thanks to a tiebreaker over Montreal. Birmingham are very good at home, terrible away, Ohio have an impressive 2-2 away record so this should be a close game.
Ohio by 3
Raleigh-Durham at Orlando
The Skyhawks wont want to slip up here, Orlando have played well in recent weeks but still cant get a rushing game going. One reason could be BJ Askews injury which flared up this week and he may miss the game. Coming back at full strength a week later might be the best for him. Raleigh had their best win of the year last sunday and veteran Curtis Alexander had his best game of the year. Playing away in the FWL is always tough, Orlando are the 'best' 0-7 team there is but have lost many close games. Could be a surprise here but Raleigh have to start off as favourites.
Raleigh by 3
New York at Montreal
Huge game for both teams. New York are having a poor year compared to past seasons but are still tied for first place in the AFC East. Montreal are looking like the best team in the AFC and a win here gives them an advantage over the Knights as well as Ohio which they gained last week. Montreal are playing great football home and away this year and should win this game, New York should be better than their record suggests but injuries/poor play have hurt them this year.
Montreal by 7
Rhein at Sacramento
Sacramento have looked very good in recent weeks and their 2 game winning streak was snapped by Raleigh last sunday but the Surge still played well. Rhein have allowed the most points in the league and the Surge should take advantage of it. Sacramento are winless on the road but 2-2 at home and could put up a great points frenzy for their fans. Fire HB Tony Hollings is improving but Rhein have to fix their offensive line.
Sacramento by 10
Mexico at San Antonio
After a 3-0 start the Riders have lost 4 in a row, the first time this has happened in San Antonio for years. Mexico lost last week but are still 5-2 and one of the top teams in the AFC. Mexico need the win badly here to keep pace with Montreal , San Antonio also need this win to keep pace with the playoff teams. The Riders will have homefield advantage but may find things very tough against Mexicos great defense. Should be a very close game.
Mexico by 3
London at Frankfurt
London get a real test this weekend against Frankfurt who bounced back last week with an impressive win over San Antonio. Frankfurt are 3-0 at home but London are 2-0. The Monarchs have had an easier schedule this year however and their record may deceive some people. They are a great team this year and should make the playoffs and seem to be getting better week by week but this is a real test for them. Frankfurt often come up big in important games like this so there could be a mild surprise.
Frankfurt by 3
Amsterdam at Berlin
Tricky game for the Admirals, Berlin have done excellent this year at 3-4 (should be 4-3 as they should have beaten London) after last years terrible team and they are showing a lot of potential for the future. They are just one game out of the playoff race but face Amsterdam who havent allowed anyone more than 13 points in a game this year. Amsterdam have had one of the best 7-0 starts of any team in league history but they do face a tricky away trip here. Amsterdam should win but Berlin played London very close and could get a surprise.
Amsterdam by 7
Scotland at Barcelona
Very important game for both teams, Barcelona were 2-2 but have dropped 3 straight and were blanked by London last week. New QB Travis Brown actually played well but the team totally let him down. Scotland suffered their 3rd overtime defeat of the year and it will be hard for them to pick themselves up for this game. Again they are one game out of the playoff race but have to improve their 1-3 away record, Barcelona arent great at home however and Scotland could get this one.
Scotland by 3
Austria at Paris
On paper this must be Austria all the way, Paris just cant run the ball but ex DarkKnight QB Ryan Dinwiddie has played well recently. Austria are two games behind London and need to carry on the pressure, they've allowed a lot of points this year but QB Curt Anes could set a record for passing td's this season as hes having a great year. Paris will get a win at some point this year but against Austria it may be very tough.

Usually i am totally against Frankfurt in my quest for the #1-winningest GM BUT in this case:
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE may Fra beat London. I URGENTLY NEED IT.....
Sorry for beeing very quiet this season but
1) I was soooooooo frustrated with the roster-mess against Amsterdam where i "had to" start my LB6 and LB5 in the probably most important game of the regular season.... THANK GOD i lost against Montreal as that was the proof that my team is not so good anyway....
2) i made tons and tons of trades before the start of TC to get the late picks.... i am defenitely kind of "overtraded" and need a rest...
3) I am really frustrated with my Team as i thought i would have the best defense ever in the history of the FWL. But my defense SUCKS on the ground and in the air.... incredible
4) I am even more frustrated as Londons keeps on winning and winning and winning and i do not see why.... i would HATE to get back-to-back "non-divisional-crowns"....
All in all:
I am still here but i am like an grumpy old man right now when i think of FWL and my team.....
dammit!

I've been shocked more at Scotland, the defense collasped, their offense has been dire , worst passing attack in the league and this coming from a team who were champs last year. 3 overtime losses have killed their momentum though
Once you get some momentum you are a very tough team to beat in the FWL, London have tons of it at the moment, i should be winning even bigger though, look how many FG's my kicker has made this year, i should score more touchdowns but seem to get conservative near the goalline. Either way i'm obviously very happy ! A lot of players are playing well this year for me.
I know what you mean about your defensive line, with Greg White, Rasmussan and others i thought you would have a great Austria d-line like the ones from the early years of the FWL. Still playing well though.
As we know a lot of things can change in the second half of the season so its early days yet. Cant wait for the Amsterdam/London clash ! The Admirals are looking awesome at the moment all round
Obviously London/Amsterdam/Montreal could be teams of the year but i think Berlin and Ohio are two of the very good comebacks of the year. Ohio look brilliant on defense, awesome pass rush and Gary has made some great moves. Berlin were awful last year but look far better this year, they nearly beat me and at the halfway point at 3-4 are better than last years 3-10-1 record. They still need some work but have potential
Feel sorry for Orlando, offense isnt bad but their defense is awful. As for Paris they lose one of their best players in Robert Edwards and have struggled badly since, Travis McKenzie i thought was a good pickup as a FB RB but he fumbled twice on his first start ! Come back Edwards soon the fans say !
Very happy with London. Offensive line playing well, have a young QB, HB who seems to be getting better and talent at WR. Great kicker, defensive has a lot of talent, LB's are great and John Leake is brilliant, he'll be a great replacement at LB1 once Tatum retires and in the secondary theres more young talent.

One week too late ! I like Kancel as a special teams player because of his speed but as a RB i dont like him at all, with such poor strength he wont break any tackles, must be a 5 foot 6 RB !

Great , just cheer me up , as if the three overtime losses were not cruel enough the most recent being an unbelievable loss to the team with the black. I still cannot believe we lost that. Mario you are jammy and if you do not know the Scots meaning of that then you are hoachy (means the same).
Just when I try my best to pick myself up after the jammy hoachy and lucky win by Austria the esteemed GM rubs salt into the wounds by reminding us of the avalanche from champs to where we are now.
Cruel I tell you CRUEL
Ahhhhhhhh but many fail to see our masterplan where we lull the teams we have lost to in OT into a false sense of security and then we POUNCE like pumas chasing an over confident prey. Grrrrrrrrrr
Watch out little mice.... especially European mice.... we are gonna get you.......
The real Claymores WILL be back
Ronnie
