Hi folks,
what about your TC? Are you sathisfied with it or was it a flop?

For Austria, it has been a tremendous disappointment as my "masterplan" of getting young players in order to give them a boost in TC did not work. All my young key-starters (disappointed me in TC, only the backups improved substantially.

Especially my much needed passing-game won´t improve a lot as QB Anes, HB Jackson and WR Hatchette almost made no progression. But the biggest disappointment where my DBs: My first round pick Moreland did not improve his speed although i put 25 points to "SP"!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can you believe it?Huh? I am really pissed off and my hopes of having a surprise-year are damaged.......

How did your team do?

I don't know.  I can't get to the Rosters page.  For some reason the link won't work for me.

Well i checked and all players potentials were set to 99 99 99 99 and i had Austrias checked as well.

Some camps your players might go up a ton, some they might not.  Bit like the real life NFL.  If i knew that 25 points on SP will always increase my RB's by 5 points then it would be a bit boring.

Each player i think has 'hidden' ratings where you cant get past.  In tips i've read on various sites it says if a player doesnt play well or doesnt seem to increase much then get rid.

Its like saying a WR with 95 hands and 92 SP and AG should always get 100 catches.  As we know it doesnt work like that, as i always mention Charlie Ward had terrible INT for a QB for many many years but was All-FWL and took his team to the FWL Bowl.  Last years leading WR Masato Itai who had over 100 catches had just 86 HA last year !

Now many GM's, you included Mario, wouldnt have started Itai at all would you ?

I think far too many GM's look JUST at the attributes such as SP, AC, AG and not at how they perform statistically in the league.  Sometimes you will get lucky and granted not every WR with 86 hands will have over 100 catches.

But what i like about the program is that there isnt always a 'set' method of doing things.  For me Anes has good INT (Same as Phil Stambaugh) but doesnt have a rushing attack to help him and perhaps his offensive line isnt as good as New Yorks.  Or it could be the fact that Anes just isnt that great or that he needs another season of starting to really decide that.

I know you arent happy Mario but all teams were treated the same.  All players have 99 potentials so basically i can just let the computer make the hidden decisions of who goes up and who doesnt go up etc.

Like i say 25 on SP doesnt guarantee a 5 point increase on every single player in the league.  Its just like the real NFL.  I'm sure Drew Brees has done the same training the last few years, the previous year he was terrible, this year an AFC superstar.

My potentially great superstar backup QB Rob Adamson only went up marginally (was 89 int now 91 int (92 before the -1) despite me chucking on 30 on INT on QB's.

Its the same for everyone

Well, i like the idea of "hiden" ratings and i understand what you want to point out: That is just the way the league works and even i like the idea that not everything is predictable. What bothers me that those ratings of my young starters seem to be quite low - otherwise their performance in TC would be far better.....

Bad luck so to speak.  Undecided But hey, that´s life  Kiss
Nevertheless ADK will be stronger than last season. WATCH OUT AMSTERDAM!!!
i put a potentially good team together, just hoping for a good TC - but ok it was not that good as i had hoped for..... But maybe Anes is "clicking" this season? Who knows?

What i seem to have found out though is that sleepers tend to have less progression that "normal" players would progress.... Anes was one of these, correct?

Anes was a sleeper before but i've never limited sleepers skills from going up.  Basically i edit their skills myself , eg 84 84 84 84 and then they go through training camp.  However they all have 99 99 99 99 potential etc so i cant believe the sleepers skills dont go up that much compared to other players.

I pick out a list of players i want to be sleepers (dont enter anything in the computer) then once someone picks those players i manually edit their skills to show them as a sleeper.  The computer wont purposely limit their progression as theyre a sleeper, its impossible.

ah week 1 is not a really week in Amsterdam, we always play away in that week and we always lose (atleast since I am GM) last year I lost from Cologne and I ended 11-3 so please let me know by email what the score was so I can prepare myself for my start of the season  Wink

Interesting game, Niki.
i am sad but basically i cannot complain as i blocked your last minute FG that could have decided it in regular gametime.

I see my team back on track this season i predict a playoff-spot. Very proud of what i have been capable of doing starting with nothing in my hands.....

QB Anes had his carreer game so far, Witherspoon is an improvement on the FB-pos, funny which good work my d-liner do despite their ratings.

Regarding Huerta:
Nope.

Nope.

why because he is injured?  Grin
Your dline did it well, but was not able to stop my run, I won the game because I was able to stop your run, sacked your QB in OT and my QB had a higher compl %

In general I am shocked (yes this season egain) the hight QB rating, 14 QB with a +90 rating

Maybe we have too think the reduce next season all players to 80% of their current skills or something like that (or off 80% and def 75%)

Well QB ratings have been quite high the last few seasons, my QB Todd Bouman had about 4 successive years of finishing the season with a 100+ rating.  Then again in last years NFL there was a record number of yardage passers, 30 td throwers and QB ratings i think.

Trying to get it right is so tough, even though QBs had a lot of 100+ type games the percentage completed appeared to be lower
